Sometimes we split, sometimes we dont. Sometimes I pay, sometimes she does. We get paid at different times so its normal that our bank balances dont align.

We have a joint account we use to pay for meals out, cinema and stuff. Both pay equal amount into it every month. No arguments that way.

We're looking into the same setup as Dual - I'm a tight arse when it comes to paying for other people and want to make sure everything is split equally; the GF thinks I don't trust her with money because of it even though it's actually myself I don't trust to stay on an equal footing.

We have a joint account for joint bills and days out together, we pay into it enought to cover bills and a bit more so it builds up some moneys in there. That amount is split relative to earnings so we are paying a fair amount based on who earns what.
The rest of our money is then ours to do whatever with, no arguments if I go and buy a thing as it is my money and all the "joint" stuff is paid for from the central pot.

I imagine the date with Ad7 starts with her getting into the back of his van when he picks her up from school. From there he takes her to the nearest McDonalds for her favourite Happy Meal. “No no my dear” Ad says “this one is on me!”.

My last two girlfriends became increasingly annoyed at me offering to pay for stuff. And I agree; the man paying for the woman is a totally outdated and, whisper it, sexist way of doing things. Are women incapable of paying their own way? I admit it was a struggle not to keep offering but I understand why it would get super annoying. It's a nice gesture at the start, but as relationships go on it shouldn't be the norm any more.

We just take turns, or rather it's a case of, "I'll get this, you got the last one." I might get a few meals in a row and she might get a few takeaways and so on. We're certainly not counting but you know when you haven't forked out for a bit.

I've been out with couples who split the bill every time and it's awkward as strawberry float.
