Do you ever go into the deep stuff like the problem of infinite regression and the various paradoxes of having an omnipotent and omniscient god? I would :P

Go to the kitchen, is it clean? No? Well clean it. Don't wait to be asked. If she tells you to put the dishwasher on, don't leave the sides a mess under the plates because she explicitly says 'the dishwasher', notice that there's a mess left behind from doing the job she asked and finish it.

When you want milk for your coffee do you pop to the shop and buy milk? Yeah? Wrong. You should be checking what supplies are needed and coming home with what's about to run out as well as milk for yourself, since you're going anyway.

Is she working late tonight? Only got one day off to spend time with you? Use you extra time to catch up on house duties to lessen her load if she's short on time. You probably think you're being helpful but it gets strawberry floating annoying when you expect everyone to be as efficient as yourself but chromosomes.

Being single and starting my life again sounds easier

Here's what Bunni said, but illustrated and expanded upon:

Pretty sure this is what she was getting at.

I find it oddly sexist.

How so? It spends a whole section explaining why the situation exists, it offers a preemptive rebuttal to your argument and, based on the anecdote I posted it in reply to, it is true in at least some situations. It certainly is true in mine too.

I'm certainly guilty of treating housework like that, don't see how it's sexist at all.

I see it as part of survival instinct, which has evolved after millions of years of men being slagged off for not doing the right thing when they act on their own initiative in an attempt to help a woman!

Or, alternatively, it's the situation women have had to endure for that same amount of time after dealing with unresponsive men.

Its entire premise is that men and women's minds function on different levels. It literally describes the male brain as if we're drones, seemingly unable to act on initiative or preemptively avoid problems because we can only do chores in some empty-headed state of INSTRUCTION -> EXECUTION. Presumably, two gay guys living together are unable to function at all.

This was posted on Reddit yesterday and the top comment was from a gay man about living with his partner:

I can give you a different perspective as I'm a man living with another man, and I have many friends in the same situation. What I've noticed is that it starts on a relatively equal setting but the workload slowly drifts to the one who cares more than the other about cleanliness and healthy living, as he takes on the household responsabilities while the other one slowly gives them up (it's a slow and subtle process). I suppose women have no choice as they are the ones conditioned to take on that role but in same sex relationships the same imbalance occurs. My point is whether it's gender based or not, finding a fair arrangement is really challenging... but good luck to women, the status quo needs to be challenged.

It spends a long portion talking about how boys and girls are conditioned into this pattern of behaviour from a young age and into adulthood. It's nothing to do with male brains functioning differently because of their chromosomes, but because they're raised in a society that teaches them about girls jobs and boys jobs.

I used a spoon to make a peanut butter sandwich the other day because all the knives were still dirty.

You ever tried to spread peanut butter sandwich with a spoon?

(I should've just cleaned one knife instead)

Got to it before me, and said it better than I would have. There's nothing sexist in this article. Those finding biased content are those looking for it.
