Is this a plea for help? The GR rapid reaction squad can pull you out last minute if you wish.

Otherwise go to bed. Tomorrow will be a long tiring day that actually goes bloody quickly so enjoy it and treasure all the memories.

De facto, yeah. I just haven’t asked or provided a ring. That’s what I’ll be doing in December. :slol:

It’s all been very unromantic, but there are reasons for the forward planning that made perfect sense in our heads even if they’re very hard to explain.

If it's to give you time to rehearse a stupid proposal song for YouTube, you can knock that gooseberry fool off now.

To be fair, it should all be discussed long before the actual proposal. I can’t imagine having that flung on me and forced to decide there and then for the sake of embarrassment.

Not that I’ll need to decide when the time comes. I’ve been nagging Anung about it long enough.

I'd be (rightly) dumped if I did that, and also would rather jump out of a top floor skyscraper window before I'd consider it in the first place.

We're going to New York at the end of November - my idea is to drop the knee in a more memorable setting.

I think you're missing the point a little. We've planned ahead, talked about the possibility of getting married, and have looked at potential wedding venues but nothing is set in stone, and no rings are involved yet so it hasn't been formalised even though I'd say it's pretty much a certainty at this point.

@Ad7: There's a big difference between having the "do you want to get married one day" chat and actually going through the social ritual of a proposal.

I say she's started planning, she's probably been planning the strawberry floating thing for the last decade with "Groom TBD" in her mind.

EDIT: Social ritual is exactly the term I'd use Karl! As Donna says, going in blind isn't something everyone wants to do, and my GF in particular doesn't always like surprises. She's said since we started going out that she'd have hated to be sprung with the question, but having talked about it in advance and made rough plans for where we'll go/what we'll do it makes the whole process a little easier.

Yeah. See if you decide you want a big wedding, that could slash the ring/proposal budget accordingly, and vice versa. To be fair it’s probably a good idea to get the ‘what type of wedding are we having’ chat put the way before you propose in case you have totally different expectations.

Well I’m married! Everything went to plan, the weather was ridiculous for our outdoor reception. Bloody smashed it. I even said the right name.

The bit im a bit stressed about is the speech im not a great public speaker.

Everyone's told me that your wedding day goes so quick it's untrue too.

You don't have to do a speech, it's your wedding after all. You can just stand up, say thanks for coming and then sit down again.

Congrats mini E :toot:
