Creators of Max Payne, Alan Wake and Quantum Break going multiplatform.

Game company Remedy Entertainment Ltd. announced financial results for its fiscal year 2016 with a revenue of €16.4 million, a year-on-year revenue growth of 19.4% and an operating profit of €3.9 million. Remedy’s outstanding performance during the fiscal year was fueled by the release of Quantum Break in spring 2016 and the revenues generated by Remedy’s existing game portfolio.

Remedy bases its long-term growth on the ability to create games and game brands that offer unique experiences with stunning visuals. Created exclusively for Microsoft, Quantum Break was the biggest entertainment production to come out of Finland at the time of its release.

Currently Remedy is developing a sequel to one of the most popular games in the world in cooperation with the Korean publisher Smilegate, who’s long-time success CrossFire gathers 650 million registered users and over one billion dollar yearly revenues.

Remedy is also working on a game project codenamed P7. The company’s strategy is to release the game on a wider range of platforms, which is why Remedy is developing its Northlight technology also for PlayStation 4 consoles.

The company general meeting on 04.04.2017 appointed new members to Remedy board of directors, including Jussi Laakkonen (CEO of Unity Technologies Finland Oy) and Henri Österlund (the founder of investment company Accendo Capital). Continuing on the board are Christian Fredrikson (CEO of Fingerprint Cards), Ossi Pohjola (board professional) and Markus Mäki (co-founder of Remedy).

Remedy CEO Tero Virtala comments: “Over 20 years on the top of the global gaming industry is a great milestone achieved only by few other independent game companies. Our new board members bring solid experience from both gaming and financial industries and help us in executing Remedy’s growth strategy and to succeed also in the future.”

I hope their new game isn't a sequel.

Alan Wake 2 then. Surely Max Payne and Quantum Break aren't as popular as much as I love both series of games.

That game, given the fact it's being developed in conjunction with Smilegate, I expect to be online only. Hopefully P7 turns out to be a game with either solo only play, or solo and MP.

I'd have thought Max Payne was more popular than Alan Wake... who owns MP and AW, anyway? I mean MS helped publish AW, and T2+Rockstar made/published the last Maxe Payne.

Rockstar has always been the publisher of the Max Payne series so I assume they have a stake in it's ownership.

Would make sense if the new multiplatform game they were working on was a new Max Payne game.

I really liked Max Payne 3 - the whole 'how much bad luck can one guy have' narrative made it feel like playing a Die Hard movie. Walking through the favela was the most memorable part of the whole thing for me.

The only Max Payne game I ever played was the first one, I got stuck fighting a helicopter on a rooftop which I assume was the final boss. It's a shame as I was really enjoying it up to that point.

Alan Wake was decent enough although I remember very little of it outside that bit where you are on a stage launching fireworks at enemies.

Haven't really played any Max Payne, Alan Wake was a pretty boring repetitive thing and haven't played Quantum Break..

Yeah i had the same feelings towards it, i really loved Max Payne 3. It was bloody hard at times but i enjoyed the story, the style and gameplay so much i just kept going and the game looked brilliant.
