PostReplacement battery for New 3DS

I think the battery on my New 3DS is buggered. Can anyone recommend a replacement? I wonder whether there is a higher capacity version out there that doesn't add to the bulk?

Wouldn't it still be under warranty? The console hasn't even been out for a year yet.

Hound, that's unlucky. The battery you need for a New 3DS is Nintendo product code KTR-003 (3.7 v, 1400 mAH, 5.2 Wh) - click here to view the details.

You have a few options to consider:

> Buy a replacement from eBay... although only China-based sellers have it for sale. Cost circa nine quid; delivery time circa five weeks. Click here to view.
> See if you can buy an official replacement from Nintendo USA (I don't know if they only ship to the USA / Canada). Click to view.
> Contact Nintendo UK on how to get a replacement. The user manual for the New 3DS states:

Nintendo UK Customer Support can be contacted on +44(0)345 60 50 247

Good luck, dude.

I personally would never buy a lithium ion battery originating from China to be safe. They contain complex self healing / regulatory circuitry that in my experience can last as little as a few charges and can potentially damage the device. But there might be some more reputable replacement brands in the UK, check Amazon reviews or something as there's a big aftermarket for this sort of thing.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."
