I'm confused, are the intelligence leaks actual intelligence leaks that reflect very badly on the services or 'fake news' (in which case no actual intelligence was released and it was just made)? According to at least one spokesperson it's both at the same time... or changed in between sentences. This would only make sense if 'fake news' not actually news that is fake but simply news that is damaging to Trump; which means it would be possible for something to be an actual leak and 'fake news' simultaneously.

The only logical conclusion is that 'fake' is being used as a synonym for 'bad', which is a use of the word I have not previously encountered.

Most shocking of all in this whole affair, Trump then speaks about Flynn being badly treated and expresses sympathy for him; which is basically him admitting he would not have taken any action to remove him if not for the media. Ironic that he should he so opposed to the press and yet fully admit they are the only thing keeping his administration publicly accountable.

Welcome to the Trump administration. Anything potentially negative is "fake" or a conspiracy to discredit him because he can do no wrong. And if you want the true news you have to go to the propaganda machines he says are good.

He has the supporters pushing it, too. If you can label everything someone says as lies then if they criticise you it can be dismissed instantly.

It's VERY worrying.

I'm not comfortable at all with the recent 'one China' comments and now this abandonment of the two state solution. Totally at odds with each other. I think that will be very dangerous for all parties.

Let's be honest here, the two state solution is pretty much dead. In a couple of decades Israel will have carved the remaining territory in the west bank up and have made a state there impossible. Unless Israelis have a collective change of mind and decide to unelect their right wing imperialist government nothing can stop them.

Things are getting to the point when even the now moderate elements of Palestinian statehood will have to reluctantly come to the conclusion that their only option is armed resistance. Thousands will die yet again and refugees will flood into neighbouring states as the final remnants of Palestine are crushed under heel.

No doubt when this happens those apologists who spent decades excusing and enabling the behaviour of Israel will talk remorsefully but it will be far too late and the bodies will already be in the ground.

How did this cockwomble win support?

His narcissistic insecurity (is that a thing) and the complete lack of any geopolitical knowledge is shocking.

What kind of broken person looked at that and 'I want that as my leader!'

It's just gibberish isn't it. Did you see the interview in which he called his CIA speech "one of the great speeches, a home run"? Astonishing, it really is, perhaps he thought it akin to one of Roosevelt's or King's finest??

Trump’s speeches might be studied in the decades to come, but I doubt that will be for the reasons that he thinks.

Donald Trump’s Deputy Assistant has angrily denied being anti-Semitic after he was spotted wearing a military medal associated with Hungarian Nazi sympathisers.

Sebastian Gorka, who is of Hungarian descent but was born and raised in the UK, was pictured wearing the controversial badge at an inaugural ball for Mr Trump and several other events.

According to the LobeLog blog, the medal was given to Mr Gorka’s father by the group Vitezi Rend – meaning Order of Heroes - that consisted of supporters of Miklos Horthy, the former ruler of Hungary, who collaborated with the Nazis during World War Two. The US State Department lists the group as being directed by Nazi Germany.

Horthy, who served as Regent of The Kingdom of Hungary between 1920 and 1944, was a self-declared hater of Jews. In 1940 he wrote: “Concerning the Jewish problem, for all my life I have been an anti-Semite.

Another normal day in the Easy D White House.

As expected. The sad thing is with Republican support, and the single digit IQ of most Trumpettes, it'll work...

I think he thinks "I'm great, I can just blag this" and then proceeds to spout nonsense which in his head sounds profound.

His constant over estimation of his own abilities is staggering - how can anyone be this deluded?

Yeah his 1 state or 2 state answer to that question was insanely stupid.

Surely someone in the white house can walk him through whats going on in the west bank with pictures and small words, something, ANYTHING.
