Buzzfeed (yes I know) have a cache of emails sent by Bannon and Milo.

Apparently Milo has such severe myopia that he can't even see Nazi salutes. :lol:

This is absolutely critical, essential reading. I think I know everything, that I'm inured to everything: I read this investigative article with dropped jaw. Three things leap out at me;

Firstly, that the links between Milo, Bannon, and the American neo-nazi & white supremacist movements are now undeniable;

Secondly, that the diseases of misogyny and racism are frighteningly widespread in the tech/media nexus even among its more liberal members. The editor of Vice's women's channel sicced Milo on a 'fat feminist', a Slate.com tech writer emailed regular tips about Anita Sarkeesian's lovelife to Breitbart, a Silicon Valley writer jokily speculated with him that Zoe Quinn might be trans. These people paid lip-service to a somewhat anti-Gamergate position while gleefully keeping one foot dangling in the swamp that birthed it;

Finally, I am stunned by the appallingly uneven ground that the 2016 election was fought on. Clinton's campaign emails were hacked, leaked, and dissected for conspiracy theory fodder about cannibalistic rituals and child sex rings. Simultaneously, the Trump campaign's chief executive brought together shady billionaires, twitter trolls, and neo-nazis to launch a new white supremacist movement, but faced no real media scrutiny for doing so.

What I find unfathomable is that it seems to be an established fact now, regardless of where one sits politically, that Milo Yiannopoulos is somehow considered "charasmatic".

I honestly think that from the first moment I encountered him (think it might have been Sunday morning show, The Big Questions) and with no prior knowledge of him, I found him absolutely repulsive. Not just his views, but also physically, the way he expresses himself and such.

I genuinely don't know how to feel that it's strawberry floating Buzzfeed breaking this story, and who got hold of all those emails, and actually took all the information and wrapped it up into a proper hit piece of investigative journalism, rather than just "write" an article called "17 Mean Girls gifs that totally sum up how you feel about white supremacy".

Buzzfeed is a weird mix of actual news/journalism that’s overwhelmed by thousands of articles on “take this quiz and we’ll tell you which Kardashian you are”.

What’s really frightening is that nobody else seems to be running the story or are not giving it big coverage.

They have a strong investigative reporting team. They were the only ones who would publish the Trump/Russia dossier that kickstarted....well, everything.

strawberry floating Buzzfeed, now I have to credit them for doing some actual journalism! I have thought for a long, long time now that Milo was a hack journalist and self publicist that believed very little of what he espoused, and was more interested in saying what paid well. Recently he has been distancing himself from the Alt Right which is weird as he liked the label when it suited him and he has an interview with the BBC, on his channel, where he sings their praises.

Some of the core issues he raised (without the hysterical bias) should be discussed, but he is counter productive to any reasonable discussion of those issues. He isn't a "nazi" but he is happy to fan their flames so long as it brings in a quick dollar. Reading that article though, I don't think he is flush with money!

Generally I'm glad the free market the right love so much has seen fit to export him to the US but I can't help but feel that had the few decent heavyweights left in our media done their job, he would have been put back in his little box in a similar way to Nick Griffin after his QT disaster.

Hopefully this at least removes any credibility he had left with the US Conservative crowd. After he seemingly endorsed Catholic peodophiles (does anyone actually believe he is Catholic :lol:) this will be the final straw. Milo is cancer.

Yeah the Editor in Chief of Buzzfeed UK is the former Deputy Editor of The Guardian. There are actual journalists doing good work there.

Especially now they can't self revive.
There's just no point going out with someone who can't come back from the dead and regale me with tales of the afterlife or how they heroically got themselves killed saving a kitten from the middle of the M25.

New approval figures, still falling:
Nineteen percent of Americans say President Trump understands the needs and problems of people like them extremely or very well, 17 percent say moderately well, and 64 percent say he understands their needs and problems not very well or not well at all.

Twenty-six percent believe President Trump is a strong leader, 23 percent view him as honest, and 16 percent say he is level-headed. Republicans are most likely to use each of these terms to describe the president.

Presidential approval remains on a downward trend. Thirty-two percent of Americans say they approve of the way President Trump is handling his job and 67 percent disapprove. His approval rating is down from 42 percent in March and 35 percent in June. While 67 percent of Republicans still approve of the job the president is doing, support among Republicans has decreased significantly since March when 80 percent of Republicans expressed approval. Twenty-eight percent of independents and 5 percent of Democrats say they approve of Trump’s handling of his job. Among Democrats, this also represents a decline since March when 11 percent said they approved.

Congressional approval remains even lower. Eighteen percent of Americans say they approve of the way Congress has been handling its job and 81 percent disapprove, including 51 percent who say they strongly disapprove.

Few Americans express confidence in the direction the U.S. is headed. Just 24 percent of Americans say things in this country are headed in the right direction, down from 34 percent in June and 37 percent in March of this year.

Melania looks absolutely bamboozled by everything there. You'd think she'd be used to his spouting gibberish by now.

I'm utterly bamboozled as to how this has happened. How did the clickbait listipedia shite of Buzzfeed attract an actual serious and successful journalist, and how did he then get to turn it into a site that does news rather than ad harvesting click through driven gooseberry fool, presumably against the drive of investors and financing types?

Edit: Eugh, it's some horrible mix of both, but still mostly clickbait shite.
