Trump, 16 March 2017: Trump plan slashes funding for Detroit, Great Lakes and much more. President Donald Trump this morning will propose a federal budget with far deeper cuts than suggested by recent media reports, altogether eliminating funding for Great Lakes restoration efforts, eradicating tens of millions of dollars in annual funding for Detroit and slashing job training funds, heating assistance for the poor and a vast array of other long-standing programs.

You can't parody this gooseberry fool.

I remember a comedy program about UK politics where an MP asked the civil service "Have you modelled if killing all the poor will save the economy?" to which was replied that of course they hadn't as it would be political suicide but a few seconds later admitted that indeed they had done a detailed statistical model and found that unfortunately killing all the poor people doesn't help.

It was funny at the time but I think that that conversation may actually happen in Trumps White House.

There are "no indications" that Trump Tower was under surveillance by the US government before or after the election, a Senate committee has said.

For whatever reason, out of every awful thing in the budget, it's the ending of funding for PBS/NPR that makes me the angriest. An entire sector of the media and free press, easily the most impartial in the US, is about to be demolished. :x

Though admittedly Trump saying something "true and accurate" is a big if.

He's allowed to declassify whatever he wants, IIRC. Not much we can do about that.

So Obama got us to do his dirty work for him apparently.

Mr Spicer quoted Mr Napolitano as saying: "Three intelligence sources have informed Fox News that President Obama went outside the chain of command.
"He didn't use the NSA, he didn't use the CIA, he didn't use the FBI and he didn't use the Department of Justice, he used GCHQ."

However, breaking tradition of not commenting on intelligence matters ....

A GCHQ spokesman said: "Recent allegations made by media commentator Judge Andrew Napolitano about GCHQ being asked to conduct 'wiretapping' against the then president-elect are nonsense.

"They are utterly ridiculous and should be ignored."

 Good morning, Prime Minister!

edit: I don't see it as being outside the realm of possibility, but this is just Trump clutching at straws so as to not appear to be back tracking. (A shame then that he wrote the tweet about how important his use of quotes around wiretap were :slol: Make your mind up, Donny!)

So now Teresa May apparently has access to the information on the mythical Trump wiretap, which would be the case if it was performed by British intelligence. I expect this to be a point of contention when he has his state visit.

Okay, so Mexico, Australia, China, half the entire Middle-East, the EU in general... United Kingdom? Any other international relations he feels like throwing a spanner into?

The US has made a formal apology to Britain after the White House accused GCHQ of helping Barack Obama spy on Donald Trump in the White House.

The White House has promised allegations that GCHQ spied on Donald Trump will "not be repeated", according to the Prime Minister's official spokesman.

Intelligence sources have told The Telegraph that both Mr Spicer and General McMaster, the US National Security Adviser, have both apologised directly to the United Kingdom over the claims.

Outstanding.

Trump getting his two stooges to grovel at the feet of May.
