I don’t have an issue with no term limits if you have faith in the electoral system. For example I have no faith in the Russian or Chinese systems. They definitely should have limits.

My understanding is that there’s no binding need for the President to step down after two terms, but it’s an unwritten rule. FDR stood for three, though he is the only person to have done it and I guess the circumstances were quite exceptional.

When FDR did it, it was an unwritten rule but afterwards the 22nd amendment was passed putting it into the constitution.

I should know that, it's literally my job to know that. :slol:

When I read what Xi said I was just waiting for this response from Trump. Surprised it took this long to be honest

Maybe that's what kind of lead to his recent bonkersness. Found out about Xi being P4L, sounded out WH staff about it, got told no, decided to to piss rotw off.

FDR getting three terms prompted the 22nd Amendment...

[Constitutional] Amendment XXII
TWO-TERM LIMIT ON PRESIDENCY
Passed by Congress March 21, 1947. Ratified February 27, 1951

SECTION 1

No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

SECTION 2

This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

I wonder if Mueller already has access to the emails and texts and is fishing to see what they omit when they send copies over...

A 14-year-old girl married a 74-year-old man in Alabama, while a 17-year-old wed a 65-year-old groom in Idaho.

From the Independent article about it...

Eight-seven per cent of the minors who married across the country between 2000 and 2015 were girls, with the majority either 16 or 17.

Not really children then, but this...

The youngest wedded were three 10-year-old girls in Tennessee who married men aged 24, 25 and 31 in 2001. The youngest groom was an 11-year-old who married a 27-year-old woman in the same state in 2006.

WTF?! :dread:
