Республиканцы никогда не обсуждают, насколько хороши их законопроекты о здравоохранении, и это будет еще лучше в обеденное время. Демс кричит о смерти, поскольку OCare умирает!

That's very clever, but I've dished out my one pat on the head today. Sorry.

Preezy wrote:Yeah I read that article a bit earlier, quite shocking really. I think I'm pretty desensitised to seeing homeless people in London and the like, but I'm yet to see a homeless child in the flesh. That'd probably really upset me :(

With regard to LA, it's all very sad, but what can they do? Throwing money at the problem just isn't working.

Studies are showing that the government appointing homeless people with case workers to help them get back on their feet, as well as providing housing etc, is much cheaper than just letting homeless people be.

Crime goes down, drug problems go down, lives get restored.

L.A. should really be looking at these studies hard. Link.

They can't do that though because then everyone will just be homeless since they will obviously all live like kings.

There was a guy at my old work place who actually believed the best solution to homlessness was to just round them all up and put them in the woods, where they would either form their own society or just die. When I pointed out that the reason homless people live in big cities was because they have things like hospitals and mental health clinics which are services these people need he just said they don't and it wouldn't be any big loss if they died. :|

Everyone is focussed on the stuff to do with Sessions and all that from Trump's interview with the NYT, but this bit is just amazing:

Trump literally said: "I have had the best reviews on foreign land. So I go to Poland and make a speech. Enemies of mine in the media, enemies of mine are saying it was the greatest speech ever made on foreign soil by a president."

Sad end for McCain, I hope Trump is not at his funeral after how he treated him.

Explains his bizarre questions to Comey at his hearing.

Sanders on how the Democratic Party is a failure and not ruling out 2020

Amazingly none of the hosts cut in or stopped him from making his points heard

He's 76 in a couple of months time. Trump is the oldest person ever to be elected President at the age of 70, I just can't see Bernie managing to beat that record at the age of 79.

For Sanders to win he'd have to have an outstanding VP candidate running alongside him, because that guy/girl would eventually end up being President.

It's lovely that everyone is being decent and nice about John McCain but this is the guy who chose Sarah strawberry floating Palin as a running mate and brought the Tea Party/modern nationalism back into prominence in American politics. He's not your friend. Unless you like nationalism of course.

He also tried to sell off sacred Native American land to a mining consortium.

He's a nasty piece of work, for sure.

He came across pretty well when Ed Harris played him in Game Change, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Plus he invented the home oven chip, so that absolves him of all wrongdoing.
