So the transcript of evidence from Fusion GPS to the House Intel Committee is being poured over. Good summary here:

http://uk.businessinsider.com/read-fusion-gps-glenn-simpson-interview-with-house-intelligence-committee-2018-1?r=US&IR=T

Key points:

Lots and lots of smoke
Lots of Russia Mafia figures seem to like Trump properties
Farage may have passed thumb drive to Assange

What's this #ReleaseTheMemo thing I am seeing? I guess it's something to do with Dems and state spying laws or something? I've tried to find out but I also see people using the hashtag for Trump and Russia.

I expect it’s this.

Republicans are bigging it up and selective leaking bits or tones of it. Lots of clickbaity ‘You won’t believe what the memo says’ sort of innuendo

Same as they did with the Fusion stuff - but it took the Dems to make it publicX

Dems have fought the release of a Republican drafted ‘summary’ - which quickly became ‘Dems blocking release of incendiary memo what are they hiding’ when Reps control the committee.

It’s bullshit rabble rousing that’s perfect fired up AlT Right Trumpkins with self righteous indignation

I'm pretty sure he meant aborted, not born. Clearly not a man with a grasp of, um, knowledge, about anything really.

Damn.

Oh and the government is about to shut down, because the Republicans thought they could make the Democrats choose between DREAMers and CHIP, holding two large groups of highly vulnerable young people hostage to their own political avarice. :x

This seems like a gooseberry fool flinging fest. Both sides are blaming each other.

Mitch McConnell saying that the shutdown is purely political, completely avoidable and will harm normal people. That’s right Mitch, shame you didn’t think that a few years ago.

Republicans control all three branches of government, couldn't get all of their own Senators to vote for the bill, and Trump backed out of a possible deal on immigration with the Democratic Senate minority leader - but it's all the Democrats fault!

These government shutdowns don’t seem to be out of the ordinary for the US. There have been 8 since 1976, and numerous more times they’ve been unable to agree funding.

I think everyone gets paid eventually but if you’ve got no savings in the meantime it could be very problematic.

How many times has it happened when one party controls the Presidency and both houses?

There is something almost poetic about the government shutting down on the anniversary of Trump's inauguration.

Epic trolling. I wonder if he thought of this himself or someone else.

Well, jeeze. They could have had water in the ears. Ears could have popped at that precise moment because Trump farted and the pressure in the room changed. Could have been a plane flying overhead. Any number of reasons they missed the word “shithole”. I’ve seen it happen on lots of TV programmes. Someone is about to swear and a fog horn will go off on a ship so you can’t hear them.

Over the weekend, Americans calling the White House comments line discovered it was repeating this message:

"Thank you for calling the White House. Unfortunately, we cannot answer your call today because congressional Democrats are holding government funding — including funding for our troops and other national security priorities — hostage to an unrelated immigration debate.

Due to this obstruction, the Government is shut down. In the meantime, you can leave a comment for the president at www.whitehouse.gov/contact. We look forward to taking your calls as soon as the Government re-opens."

Which seems to be an entirely illegal message in terms of a government agency.

Not that these things seem to matter anymore

I know his base are too stupid to realise but they are basically saying “We control both Houses and the Presidency and we still can’t run the government”.
