The fact that Kushner is now involved must surely suggest a 5am tweet storm could be on the way.

Just read an article the premise of which must start to take root. If there is nothing behind the links with Russia, why do they keep lying about them?

Has anyone asked the question whether they had equivalent meetings with other major powers or was it just the Russians.

Another little twist, Sessions used campaign funds, not Senate funds for trip to Cleveland where he met the Russian Ambassador. Seems unusual when he was acting solely as a member of the Armed Services panel :?: :fp: .

Curioser and curioser.

Sessions won't last the year at this rate. It'd be a tremendous blow to the new administration if he gets sunk by the whole affair.

One wonders who will be engulfed by the scandal next? Tillerson must be shitting bricks right about now.

Rachel Maddow did a piece on Tillerson the other day where she said that he and Trump had never even met prior to Trump winning the election. Combine that with Tillerson winning that "Friend of Russia" award and its almost as if someone in the Kremlin was choosing the sec of state.

Not sure how wise it is to bring Obama into it. Presumably he knows actual secrets.

Did Trump accidentally watch a Watergate documentary and think it was all about him?

If it is true that his phones were tapped by the government then I would guess that it was because of suspected Russian involvement in the election. If you think that the next person who wants to be president may have been compromised by Russia then you are probably going to do some intelligence work into it. I'm sure as with all of trump claims though we are never going to actually find out the truth and the claims will all just fritter away and be replaced by another accusation or story.

It's scary that Trump now has the authority to view the classified intelligence files on every world leader and notable business figure, even on himself. I bet that's what he's been doing - reading the reports on himself.

The second Kushner was brought into it, there was another tweet storm coming. He is so spectacularly easy to wind up.

You can't wire tap a US citizen without a warrant, so if this was rejected by a court like he says then it's pretty bad.

I bet they did have a warrant though. Given what the public knew about Russia's involvement, the Intelligence Community would presumably have had enough to convince a judge.

Edit: Now that Trump has made a story out of this, it's a matter of time until whatever was gathered from those wire taps gets leaked. :D

This thread is fantastic

Essentially; these taps were ordered under FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) and were uncovered a few weeks back by various sources. FISA warrants are highly classified, so Trump just declassified this one. Also, if a FISA warrant was granted, it means a Federal Judge thought there was probable cause, ie a fairly high chance that Trump was doing something highly illegal and/or was compromising national security.

He done goof'd with these tweets.
