Just a reminder that if the Democrats can scrape a narrow loss or even a win in Kansas today, the Democrats' momentum moving into Georgia's special election next week could be almost unstoppable. It would be a major indictment of the presidency coming from a traditionally very conservative state.

Spicer being controversial today is no mere coincidence.

Clearly what Spicer meant was that Hitler did go around dropping chemical weapons (bombs) on people, he also probably was referring to his own people. However under the Chemical Weapons Convention 1997 what hitler did to the Jews, Gypsies and others in the gas chambers would still be classed as a chemical weapons. The next point is that a lot of them were also german citizens so even in the basic question of whether Hitler used chemical weapons on his own people then the answer is yes.

The problem with going after North Korea is that the US would have to kill millions of people with many of them being civilians and I think once reports of that get out support for the action will crumble and Trump will have a hard time clinging to power.

The US won't be able to occupy the land they gain as the locals have all been indoctrinated to think all outsiders are evil so how exactly are they to have any say in the future of a place they will claim to have liberated?

That's to say nothing of the incalculably vast humanitarian nightmare they'd be saddling South Korea with, if SK gets to reunite in victory with NK. "Lol good luck!"

In the case of that though, at some point that is going to happen no matter what. Its a matter of when, not if.

Then preparations must be made, because right now I doubt SK could handle that kind of burden.

Yep, bombing the gooseberry fool out of North Korea and then handing it over to South Korea will make the US really popular.

I'm unsure how you could prepare South Korea for an influx of traumatised people flooding in from a war they didn't want and with pretty much bugger all. North Korea would be a flaming shambles so it's not like they could be sent back without vast fortunes being spent on rebuilding after Trump's inevitable ultra shock and awe campaign on steroids so where exactly would South Korea house these people?

Condone who? Saying what I think spicer meant isn't condoning him. He's a complete idiot who I have no idea got his job. I can't imagine someone like him ever getting that position under another president, simply based on his skills. He's just not cut out for the job. I don't think anyone in his position should go around comparing anyone to hitler. It just doesn't need to be done. However he did compare him to hitler and I was just pointing out what I think was going through spicers head at the time.

Indeed, it's believed the population of n Korea is around 25m (how we know that I don't know). The vast majority of them are already struggling for food.

When will people in power learn to just avoid all mentions of Hitler.

Also, it's not as if the US hasn't used chemical weapons in the past with Agent Orange.

It must go down as one of the stupidest things a US press secretary has ever said.

I did really enjoy the film Downfall so maybe that makes me a fan.
I don't understand what he's got against the Jews though.
