Just about to post the same thing. That was the most desperate attempt I have seen to try and drag Clinton into the Russia inquiry.

Well that made uncomfortable viewing. John McCain just went doolally in Prime Time, including talking about "President Comey".

The GOP are going hard on the fact that Trump is inexperienced and wouldn't know that talking to the FBI Director about stopping investigations was not OK. The problem with that argument is that it says he's unfit to serve, it's not like it's a tricky concept to grasp (don't interfere with the of Law) and even if he did not know this was not OK, when Pence and Sessions stepped out of the Oval Office, they have absolutely no excuse.

Is he- is he finished? Is this over?

Is ignorance really a good excuse when it comes to the President of the United States?

Absolutely. It's just a barmy excuse. He's stupid. He's 70 years old for goodness sake, he's had a chequered legal history shall we say, and he's not supposed to know that as President you don't try and stop an FBI investigation. All they are actually doing is confirming the basic facts as Comey presents them.

McCain is either a desperate shill for Trump now, or he's becoming mentally unfit to serve in his twilight years. Hard to know which.

Ignorance of the law and of protocol, and being the new guy, is no excuse, and does not exempt you from the law.

I think McCain is suffering with his age. He is probably the best candidate the GOP have had in the last 30 years or so, it's unusual to see him quite that off the mark.
