They're at it again.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/201 ... s-fox-news

Donald Trump has issued another provocative warning to North Korea, suggesting that his threat to unleash “fire and fury” on the country was not “tough enough”.

The US president told reporters that North Korea “better get their act together or they’re going to be in trouble like few nations ever have been in trouble in this world”.

Sounds like they are being taken off of the naughty step and are going to be grounded for a month.

He's clearly seen how freaked people are by his words and decided to double down on his big boy statements.

The way he applauded Putin for kicking out US diplomats, thinking Russia had fired them was unbelievable. They're very much still on the US payroll. :fp:

Trump says that the US is 'locked and loaded'. I think he thinks he's playing a VR war game.

I can't believe contemporary human civilisation is going to end because of three pathetic men violently overcompensating for their tiny micropenises.

I read somewhere that the average lifespan of a civilization is about 250 years. Is that true? :dread:

Hopefully Mattis can talk him down:
US diplomacy is gaining results, says Mattis

US Defence Secretary James Mattis has said America still hopes to solve the North Korea crisis using diplomacy.

After days of fiery rhetoric from both the US and North Korea, Mr Mattis said war would be "catastrophic" and that diplomacy was gaining results.

On Friday, North Korea's official KCNA news agency said President Donald Trump was "driving" the Korean peninsula to the "brink of a nuclear war".

Pyongyang is finalising a plan to fire missiles near the US territory of Guam.

The KCNA report comes after Mr Trump said that North Korea should be "very, very nervous" if it acted against the US.

He said the regime would be in trouble "like few nations have ever been" if they do not "get their act together".

The KCNA report accuses Washington of a "criminal attempt to impose nuclear disaster upon the Korean nation" and making "desperate efforts" to test weapons in the Korean peninsula.

The US is "the mastermind of nuclear threat, the heinous nuclear war fanatic", the report said.

Sen. Lindsey Graham said he had discussions with Trump about North Korea and described the president as "deadly serious. Very curious."

"I think he's made a decision long ago, quite frankly, to try to negotiate the threat with North Korea. ... But if negotiations fail, he is willing to abandon strategic patience and use pre-emption," he said.

"I think he’s there mentally," Graham added. "He has told me this."

Trump: 'I'm doing the military a great favor' by banning transgender troops

President Donald Trump on Thursday defended his controversial ban on transgender troops serving in the military, saying he's doing them "a favor" despite a flood of criticism for the policy change.

"It's been a very difficult situation, and I think I'm doing a lot of people a favor by coming out and just saying it," Trump said while on a working vacation at his golf club in New Jersey. "As you know, it's been a very complicated issue for the military. It's been a very confusing issue for the military, and I think I'm doing the military a great favor."

Pentagon officials have said they would not implement the change until receiving clearer instructions from the White House, but five transgender members of the military have already sued over it.

Despite backlash from the LGBT community, Trump claimed he got support from those groups during the 2016 presidential election.

"I have great respect for the community. I think I've had great support, or I've had great support from that community," Trump said Thursday. "I got a lot of votes. But the transgender, the military's working on it now."

Everything is great and he got a lot of votes so it's OK *thumbs up*

A google suggests that it lasted 500 years.

True enough, but then, how many civilizations didn't last that long? I only read that it was an average lifespan, anyway - obviously it's not a use by date.

I blame those bloody Moggyist rebels, always popping up in public spaces doing terrible polls and upsetting all my citizens with their wikipedia-source wankery.

Trump has just dropped the news, out of nowhere, that he might be considering using a military option in Venezuela.

I think he's realised his mistake in trying to start a deflective war against a potential nuclear enemy that can trigger armageddon. Gotta pick the right battles.

Let me guess, this bombshell revelation went something like...

'Venezuela...which by the way...and not a lot of people know this but...we are closely monitoring Venezuela. It's a beautiful country, great people...we have options in Venezuela. Many, many options. Maybe, military, I don't know. We'll see. But we have many options. And we have troops, the best in the world, STRONG troops, led by the greatest generals, and these troops are everywhere. The best. And we can send them there, or all over the world if you really think about it...they're very near. Very far. WORDS. JUST LET ME BLOW SOMETHING UP, JIM!!'
