Someone push his reset button again?

It's the political equivalent of 'San Dimas High School Football rules!'

Tucker Carlson is just so terrible I honestly can't watch him as he just makes me so angry at his sheer smugness and basic lack of interviewing skills.
He doesn't interview people he lectures them about why he's always right and anyone on any subject (even if they're literally MIT professors talking about the subject they teach) should never question his brilliance.

It says in that picture that Plato owned slaves - I thought that there was dispute as to whether or not Plato ever actually existed? Or am I thinking of Socrates? One of them Greek lads, anyway.

I've always thought statues of people are useless and it'd be better for more anonymous, collective memorials to be built to champion causes and the many who achieved it. That would completely, or at least massively reduce, the hassle of future generations having to debate if statues should be taken down due to changing moral norms.

So you wouldn't want a memorial built to someone who has achieved great things in modern society in case of the off chance that future generations don't want it there?

Seems a bit over-cautious to me.

They might have been chicken eaters and people in the future will hate them for it.

That was just a joke Lucien!

Been announced that DailyMailTelevision is coming to the US 5 times a week via syndication, and will be hosted by former NFL player Jesse Palmer. It'll focus on politics, crime, showbiz and science. What a disaster...

I am pretty sure that Plato existed. I have no idea if he owned slaves, but he was a slave himself at one point.

And yet its programming is regularly the highest rated on cable TV, battling it out with WWE, NFL and NBA.

Trump supporters basically get their news 1 of 4 ways: Trump himself, Fox News, Breitbart, or if you're completely gone, InfoWars. Maybe if you're a little more tolerant you'll stretch to MailOnline. It's not exactly a very healthy diet of news consumption.

Fox News and Rupert Murdoch are responsible for this gradually manifesting monster. It's the old Frankenstein's monster analogy.

I'm stunned that a Leave supporting group would also love Trumpy. :slol:

IIRC Leave.EU is the Farage backed group for which he rereleased that nazi propaganda poster.

Aren't both Leave.EU and the Trump campaign linked by that Cambridge Analytica company that pioneered targeted fake news on social media?

I doubt he's bright enough to know the word, but Trump is basically a believer in eugenics. It's no real surprise then that he has sympathy for Nazis, good German genes!

This is actually something I'm strawberry floating terrified of. Can you imagine if someone killed him? Can you imagine the furor and the rage from the right, not to mention the far-right? The GOP would have absolute authority to do whatever the strawberry float it wanted and it would completely erase the America we have known in our lifetimes.

Yeah I'm pretty frightened of what would happen if we were assassinated.

I'm hoping he accidentally shoots himself at a firing range or something, then a video leaks of him crying and begging for his mummy as he slowly bleeds to death.

I like a Twitter idea.

If the want to keep Robert E Lee statues, just change them to him grovelling in surrender as slaves are unchained and run free.

That's the thing I don't get. Most of these alt-right people will have had parents or grandparents who played a role in defeating Nazi Germany in WW2, either on the frontline or on the home front. How can they not see that they're now the very thing their country fought against? Mind boggling.

Well considering the US almost joined the war on the side of Germany in WWI, and there was still a lot of support for Germany before WWII, it's not all that surprising.
