Right after that speech some of his administration basically went on a circle jerk telling Trump how great he was. Unbelievable gooseberry fool.

Even if true (and it's obviously not) aren't Republicans supposed to be about small government?

Hang on, you can't say 'there has never been' and then add some exceptions. This has never been done, accept by all the people who've done it before.

So Sessions public testimony today should be interesting. Presumably if he tries to throw anyone under a bus it'll be Comey. Think it'll be his way of getting back onside with Trump and trying to take the wind out of the sails of the investigations.

So on the day one of Trump's friends tells the news that Easy D is thinking of firing the special counsel, he was spotted at the Whitehouse.

How is it that Trump is still able to disrupt an investigation into his ties with Russia? Surely at this point it should be and independent review conducted by people not connected to him or his party.

Two things: firstly it is debated whether a sitting president can actually be prosecuted for committing a crime. If that is the case, then the only other option is impeachment and that is dependent on the House and the Senate, which are both currently run by the GOP. At the moment the Republicans are protecting him rather than the constitution and the country in the hope of actually getting some legislation passed before the 2018 midterms.

Amazing that Trump could potentially fire the special counsel, seems completely backwards.

Some Americans freak out about presidents potentially becoming king-like (if they were to have more than 2 terms in office) and yet Trump will likely do more damage in 4-8 years than a traditional president may have in a unlimited term. Does that count as ironic?

How is the special council in any way special if it can be fired by the President exactly the same as any other council?

It’s the start of a great move from Trump. If he sacks the special counsel, the FBI, the police, the security guards and the kids who have toy police badges, then suddenly there is nobody else left to arrest him. If he can’t be arrested, then he is innocent and everything is FAKE NEWS. Tremendous, just the best smartest plan.
