Oh and the Russian Lawyer in the meeting does have a relationship with the Russian Government.

I do wonder if all of this week is a warning message from Putin to Trump. You have to ask where all of this information is coming from?

Hi guys hope you all had a great Bastille Day, always nice to remember our WW1 veterans who fought so hard against the Nazis for American freedom and for the French, who as we know also fought a bit in WW1 xx

Yep. Saw an article yesterday stating the White House was actually pretty positive at the moment as this debacle has demonstrated that even full on collusion with the Russians will not move the GOP to act. The Trumps are the Bluths of the political world, but it's the Republicans who are the real strawberry floaters here, and they've shown just how far they're willing to sell their country down the river in order to stay in power.

It'll take something extraordinary (well more extraordinary than we've seen :slol: ) for the Republicans to act.

But all of this stuff is now public record and there are midterms next year. If all this can turn enough people against Trump/Republicans then the Democrats could take over both Houses and they can start impeachment.

It's possible that the Republicans might even do it themselves if the evidence keeps building and they start fearing that Trump will be bad for them.

Either way, nothing happens immediately, these things take time.

It took over a year for Watergate to get going.

It has had some impact already. nationalreview.com which is a key conservative website has been utterly scathing of Trump this week. They were never fully on the Trump train, but willing to live with the nonsense for a Republican agenda. But they are now freely admitting that this meeting is beyond acceptable. What they are doing, and this may be the position of the GOP for now, is to say that there is an investigation underway and therefore they need to see what comes of that. I think the GOP will sit this out whilst they think there is a chance they can get some legislation through with a Republican pen in the oval office, but once the midterms become key, I think things could start to change.

This is a great thread for explaining GOP inaction. The article links to a newspaper article, but if you see the whole thread you'll see Steve Kornacki's take on it.

I love you can sum that up as 'Republicans didn't realise how strawberry floating stupid and deluded large swathes of their supporters were'

Did you spot the Trump did that thing he always does when he learns something new? (This time that France and American are oldest allies?)

'Not a lot of people know that'

He just can't believe he's not clever or more insightful than everyone else.

Deluded arrogant spoiled banana split

It's crazy that nobody now thinks of W as the worst President of modern times. Who would have believed that to be possible?

We can't just ignore the horrible things his administration did, just because someone worse came along.

Shep Smith is the most reasonable person on Fox News.
