I quite like McCain, he seems a principled and honourable man even if I generally completely disagree with his politics.

I wonder if this explains his bizarre questioning when Comey was at that committee hearing.

I kind of go back and forth on the guy. I basically hate everything he believes in but he does at least seem principled.

It's looking more and more likely that Trump will cause a constitutional crisis for the US. What happens when he does is almost certainly going to be up to the GOP. Good luck with that one then!

It's maddening isn't it. I suppose the question is; will they still support him when their healthcare is compromised, when jobs do not return to the region? Surely this delusion can only go so far. Ultimately, there will always be idiots that will continue to vote for someone like Trump, what's important is mobilising the rest of the electorate in order to remove this hugely damaging human being from office.

They will blame whomever Trump blames - Republicans, so-called "RINOs," Democrats, Hillary Clinton.

It's maddening, but there's nothing anyone can do to turn them around.

Totally - to call him a Republican in any sense would be an egregious lie. He's no moderate though (the usual definition of RINO being that of the closet Democrat), since his policies clearly pander to the prejudices and predilections of the party's extreme fringe. If he's anything, he's an oligarchic demagogue, which should surprise nobody, given his connection to several of Russia's oligarchs.

That said, even given all that's going on, he still has the loyalty of the base of the party he hijacked, as well as most of its representatives. Russia won't move them, they dismiss as fake any element of the media that criticizes him, hell at this point he'd likely still command influence over some most of his base even if videos came out of him raping that child.

Yep, it's amazing just how much some people are willing to throw their own party members under the bus simply for the crime of not being pure enough.
They treat the constitution like it's a holy document but at the same time twist it to their particular values until it's nothing like what was the original intention.

They also wholeheartedly believe the idea that US conservatism is the only workable political ideology on the planet and that everything else including even moderate conservative values will ultimately fail and end up with communism and millions dead. If you point to something a democrat did that had a positive impact they will spend hours trying to prove it was really done by a conservative and that liberals opposed it.
I spent well over 5 years trying to argue with people like that and nothing I or the few other none hardcore republicans said would budge them even an inch from the idea that nothing but hardcore republicanism would work. They simply can't believe that Europe will exist in 20 years as we'll all be bankrupted by doing insane things like paying for maternity leave or having laws so that an employer can't just decide to sack you for no reason after being in a job for 30 years.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer resigns

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer has quit, reportedly in protest at a shake-up of the communications team.

Mr Spicer stepped down because he was unhappy with President Donald Trump's appointment of a new communications director, reports the New York Times.

Combative Wall Street financier Anthony Scaramucci has been picked for the role that Mr Spicer partially filled.

Mr Spicer's press briefings were a cable news hit, but he withdrew from camera in recent weeks.

Another guy from Wall Street. "Drain the swamp!" - lol.

Fake news. He didn't quit he resigned which is 100% not the same thing.
