It has been a full century since the gun-owning citizens of the US had the ability to overthrow their government with their 2nd Amendment-guaranteed guns. But they don't know that, and when you do make it clear that an AK or AR or whatever isn't going to cut it against drones, jets, bombers, tanks, special forces and more, they resort to the home/mass shooter defense argument. That one's harder to crack. Then they crow their victory song.

I think there is a lot you could do without banning guns. Get rid of the gun check loop holes, create a computerized national registry. Stop banning computers being used in gun crime. Start researching how to lower gun crime in the states for starters.

That's a no-go for conservatives, because they'll talk some gooseberry fool about how registries will be used to make it easier to find and disarm them.

So we should ignore them and do it anyway, and create legal protections to keep it from being re-purposed or dismantled by the next Republican administration.

I first read that as people using a computer while committing a crime and was stumped at how a laptop would be of much help in a gunfight. Maybe you could google "How can I escape when surrounded by armed police" but I have a feeling the answer isn't going to be that helpful.

The US ballistics lab is banned from keeping any of it's finding on computer which massively increases the time it takes to check stuff.

Yep, pretty much every sensible option you can think of has some well entrenched position they can roll out without even having to think about it.
Even the simple idea of not allowing people on terrorist watch lists to buy guns is something they appose as they will claim the government will just put all conservative groups on that list as the government is obviously only staffed by ultra liberal nutjobs.

I know. It's almost as stupid as saying they can't keep fingerprint or DNA records because it infringes our freedom somehow.

Just ban guns for a year on the condition that if shootings go up then everyone will get their guns back.

With Trump's inconsistencies, there is always a tweet. But it's not normally the same tweet :slol: .

I can already see Sarah Sanders coming up with some bollocks to explain away the contradiction and claim that by pointing it out the reporter who does so is somehow wrong and obviously hugely biased against Trump. It must be really depressing being a White House reporter to have to sit and listen to her spout gooseberry fool they know to be gooseberry fool and then be slapped down by her constantly for simply pointing out the lies.

The press need to stop being so polite and just say that they're going to go full on and just call her out and if she doesn't like it then she can kick out entire news organisations until only Fox are left so that it becomes obvious they have zero intention of telling the truth.

Imagine if it turns out Bernie was in on it... :slol:

Bernie blames Hillary for allowing Russian interference - The senator and his top political adviser also denied Mueller's assertion that Russian actors backed his campaign.

Give guns to the underpaid and highly stressed teachers who put up with annoying kids for more than 6 hours a day.

What could go wrong? :slol:

Trevor Noah got this spot on. He said when he was at school, teachers couldn't even work out which kid was talking, regularly telling off the wrong child. His teacher once threw a chalkboard at him and missed, hitting someone else. That'll keep em safe. :fp:

The major problem I have with US reporters is the complete lack of any follow up questions, it's REALLY ANNOYING.

'I didn't say give the teachers guns, I said give the teachers guns!'

What a strawberry floating dumb banana split this man is. I still pinch myself daily in the hope that this shower of shite isn't the POTUS and I wake up and have my cornflakes.
