Just watching "Inside America's Largest Right Wing Militia" which popped up as a recommendation on my Sony TV. It's a Vice production but I'd recommend it if you can find it. It's both hilarious and alarming all at the same time.

So John Kelly almost got Trump out of his latest hole. He spoke powerfully and asked that gold star families not be politicised. Laying aside the fact the it was his boss who started that, no-one was going to go after someone who has given his life and a son in service to their nation. He did more or less confirm what was said to the widow on the phone, but the issue was probably going to go away. But someone decided they wanted to have the last word instead ...

What he has done is taken two factually correct statements, "crime rises 13%", "spread of Radical Islamic terror" and added "amid" to intentionally and cynically conflate the two separate issues. Or, as he's claiming it's a direct quote, someone has. Now I've not watched Fox News this morning, but...

Trump is really the US's answer to Del Boy.

Thinking about it, I just jumped to the conclusion that Trump was lying. He is well known for being a liar (the best lies, lies like you wouldn’t believe) but I forgot the other aspect of his character. His stupidity.

It’s just as likely that the thick banana split has a fake painting on his wall that he thinks is the real one and that he refuses to listen to people who tell him that the real one is in a museum.

It is incredible that Trump is so toxic, that anyone who ends up working for him, rather than helping him get better, they end up ruini8ng their own reputations instead. This time John Kelly stepped into the breach and it turns out, he's now been caught misrepresenting (#cough) someone's views.
