The generals don’t have any say in the matter though.

To order a nuclear strike, Trump only needs to key in the codes and tell them where to fire. It also requires the Secretary of Defence to enter their code, but the SoD doesn’t have a choice in the matter (they could refuse but they would be instantly replaced by somebody who would do it!).

Luckily the strike orders are still given to actual humans who have to actually push the button/turn the key to launch the nukes, so hopefully they'd refuse to do so.

Unless it's from a submarine of course in which case the missiles can be launched remotely.

So you're intending on firing a warning shot 'near' the place you said you'd bomb the day before. Of course it will and any accidental casualties would just be a course malfunction right?

Was in the US embassy in Dublin this morning renewing my little ones passport, good lord the security is mental, not allowed any electronics at all, no liquids and we went though about 3 metal detectors.

I wonder why an embassy would have high security?
