That's not what is happening here, sure media needs to be more accurate, but right now you have the press of the world calling out The President of the USA as having colluded with the Russia government, he didn't even record his call to Putin, which is shocking. The media are trying to actually protect the people in this instance and are fact checking with people inside the White House, Trump even said the leaks are real, but then deflects that with cries of 'Fake News'. Trump is turning the people against the media to further his agendas, he realises he can't control the media so instead he discredits it. It so close to what Hitler did with the German media in 1933 it's almost unreal.
The narrative Trump is trying to tell the people is that the leakers are bad and the media are bad and that he is the good guy in all this. Which anyone with half a brain can see he is clearly not a good guy and clearly not the right person for the job.
