That really needed to be followed with the "White People Magazine" picture.

Yep.

Although it's strawberry floating awesome that Jones won, the fact that the margin was only around 1.5% and that white voters overwhelming voted for alleged paedophile Moore shows just how strawberry floated up America is sometimes.

Here's hoping the Dems will start appealing to the black vote now instead of ignoring them an concentrating on lapsed white voters who are never coming back into the fold.

I'm not sure "sometimes" is the right word, there has been a string of mental I think the right phrase is "right now" or "at the moment".

Unlike Moore, I concede. You're strawberry floating right.

As partisan as the UK can be politically, we have nothing on the Americans.

Trump was correct (for once ;) ) when he said he could shoot somebody and his numbers would only go up. A vast swathe of America will vote for their party no matter what the party or candidate has done.

and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time.

Does someone know something we don't know...

It was a special election to fill Jeff Session's seat, but his term was up in 2018 so Doug Jones is going to have to do this all over again in the midterms next year. Probably won't be running against a creepy pervert next time either... but I can only say "probably" because it'll still be a Republican.

Edit: sorry, it's 2020, not 2018. That's nicer :)

I wonder how much of that turnout has to do with Doug Jones' role in the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing case.

It's hard to see Jones winning again in 2020, TBH, but then again, by the time he runs again (if he does), Alabama won't be the pivotal seat it is today.

It's true. The deck was stacked against him just because he liked young girls. How was the poor man ever going to compete against a man that wasn't banned from a shopping mall for trying to pick up schoolgirls? It's just so unfair. :x

The deck may have been stacked against him but the strawberry floater was playing solitaire and he cheated and he still lost.

Yey, I'm young again :toot: :toot: :toot: :toot: :toot: .

Maybe I can go into work and tell them I'm just a young whippersnapper and so shouldn't be working or I'll phone childline.
