US Politics - Trump cancels summit having to do with North Korea

So Jeff Sessions is currently sat before the House Judiciary Committee.

Some are not expecting it to go so well.

I find not sexual harassing women is a pretty good defence against being accused of sexually harassing women to be honest.

Reminds me of a bloke I used to know that would always phone his wife just to seek permission to take a gooseberry fool. If he went into a pub or did anything remotely spontaneous he immediately had to call home just to let the ball and chain know what he was doing. She probably has him hooked up to a GPS these days.

After a year of investigations by police and school the teacher was cleared and upon returning this same kid came up to her and told her she made a big mistake coming back and that he would make sure next time she wouldn't get off so easily. She transferred schools after that.

Obviously these investigations need to be done as there are cases of real abuse but hearing all these stories has made me think twice about when I hear these kinds of allegations. That being said, being accused by a whole bunch of people is quite different to one accusation.

I agree that people make false allegations but they are fairly rare. None of these cases are life destroying though.

The problem the Republicans have here is the evidence does pretty much point to him being guilty of at least liking to go out with teenage girls at the age of 32 which isn't great whatever way you try and spin it. I'm fairly sure if I was to ask some of the people at work if I could start going to the pub with their 17 year old daughters they'd be less than happy about it even if I was a complete gentleman and didn't try any of my devastating moves on them.

I agree that people make false allegations but they are fairly rare. None of these cases are life destroying though.

I agree it's fairly rare, but if I was in a position of power I might take some extra precautions just to make sure something like that can't happen.

Also, I'm not sure if I understood the second part of your comment, but an accusation of sexual misconduct with children can definitely be life destroying. The teacher I mentioned had to basically have her life on hold for a year because of the accusation and then had to move schools, and it was easily provable that she was innocent.

That's why I'm sort of in two minds about it whenever there is an accusation made against a teacher. On one hand it's important to know in case there are other victims which might be encouraged to come forward, on the other hand being just accused of this is enough to be blacklisted by many employers.
