I imagine a significant amount of money changed hands before the parents of the kids agreed.

Farage has been on Fox News telling the EU to back down in their trade war with the US.

Aren't there quite a lot of Mormons though? you would think the numbers would be higher if it was them marrying 13 year olds. But yeah, some cult makes sense I guess.

It’s all over the US though. Tennessee, Alaska and New Jersey probably have some Mormons, but I doubt they are the only ones doing it.

It’s like they are still living in medieval times. :dread:

Many states have extremely rural localities where these things are seen as more acceptable than they would to the outside world.

It’s only an excuse if they are living in a time warp where it’s still 1318. And even then they are sick banana splits.

Just being rural is no defence.

Brilliant (if long) article about Christopher Steele and the dossier.

For context, this totally makes him a traitor.

I'm not saying it is, but these are places where world views and values have changed little in the last hundred years.

I'm pretty sure marrying a 10 to 13 year old was still largely frowned upon 100 years ago.

Former Trump aide Sam Nunberg said Monday that he has been subpoenaed to appear in front of a federal grand jury investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 but that he will refuse to go.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Nunberg said he was asked to come to Washington to appear before the grand jury on Friday. He also provided The Washington Post a copy of his two-page grand jury subpoena seeking documents related to President Trump and nine other people, including emails, correspondence, invoices, telephone logs, calendars and “records of any kind.”

Nunberg forwarded an email from the office of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III seeking his appearance in front of the panel on Friday.

Among those the subpoena requests information about are departing White House communications director Hope Hicks, former White House strategist Stephen K. Bannon, Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and adviser Roger Stone.

Nunberg said he does not plan to comply with the subpoena, including either testimony or providing documents.

“Let him arrest me,” Nunberg said. “Mr. Mueller should understand I am not going in on Friday.”

Nunberg said he was planning to go on Bloomberg TV and tear up the subpoena.

These are probably places were people don't think twice about marrying a blood relative.

Does Sam Nunberg somehow think that because he's beyond the call of a subpoena?
Surely his actions will just lead to him getting arrested and saying he'll publicly destroy the subpoena is just being childishly antagonistic. He could have just gone to the meeting and said nothing as is his right and that would have been it but this way he just looks like an idiot and guilty as hell as well.

Precisely. Back woods folk. blazingsaddles.gif

:o They're taking the escort to Muellergard!

It'd be a beautiful sort of poetic justice if Trump were taken down by an escort of all people. :slol:

His twitter outrage would be hilarious.
Even if he's sent to a nice open prison all by himself just taking his phone away would be a huge blow to Trump as I don't think he could handle not being in the limelight all the time.

According to an article by the Washington Post, that month the C.I.A. sent what the paper described as “an intelligence bombshell” to President Obama, warning him that Putin was directly involved in a Russian cyber campaign aimed at disrupting the Presidential election—and helping Trump win. Robert Hannigan, then the head of the U.K.’s intelligence service the G.C.H.Q., had recently flown to Washington and briefed the C.I.A.’s director, John Brennan, on a stream of illicit communications between Trump’s team and Moscow that had been intercepted. (The content of these intercepts has not become public.)

Absolutely crazy!

It's all a bit suspicious, looks like Stone or Bannon are playing games to be honest. Either that or Sam Nunberg has lost his mind.
