Unanimous verdict, too! It's not over, though.

The White House could take the issue to the Supreme Court, but the prospects for such an appeal are uncertain due in part to the high court being short a justice and split evenly between Democratic and Republican appointed justices.

The appeals court ruling is not a final one on the legality of Trump’s order. Litigation on that subject will go forward before the Seattle judge and in about 20 other legal challenges pending across the country.

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/t ... ing-234870

And you can bet that Trump will be Tweet raging into the night, probably calling for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to be broken up to reduce its influence (as Republicans have been trying to do for years), as well as passing the blame for his failure to have his ban upheld onto the justices of the court, rather than take some responsibility for the shoddily written pile of gooseberry fool. The buck stops with whomever Trump decides to blame at any given moment, apparently: "Don't look at me, I'm just the president!"

First tweet is in video form. Other two are the funniest, most cringe inducing cuts in gif form.

To be fair he is an expert on the courts thanks to the number of lawsuits his business activities generated.

Man, he's soooo gotten to, absolutely hilarious. Rudi Giuliani really shot himself and the white house in the foot showing off on fox that the president asked his advice to make the 'muslim ban' legal. That was used in court against the white house! :fp:

So far this is quite encouraging given the robustness of the checks and balances. I just hope the system continues to work this way no matter who the president is.

As is becoming commonplace, it was difficult to know which massive scandal was the biggest yesterday. Aside from his ALL CAPS tweets .....

There was Conway breaking ethics rules so badly that even the WH had to say something:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/conway-may-have-broken-key-ethics-rule-by-touting-ivanka-trumps-products-experts-say/2017/02/09/fd1cc64a-eeda-11e6-b4ff-ac2cf509efe5_story.html

There was also a story emerging that in his call to Putin Trump had to break off to check what a nuclear arms treaty was:

http://www.vox.com/world/2017/2/9/14562014/trump-putin-call-new-start-what

But perhaps the one which might yet have more legs is the fact that Michael Flynn spoke about sanctions with Russia before taking office and then said he didn't:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/national-security-adviser-flynn-discussed-sanctions-with-russian-ambassador-despite-denials-officials-say/2017/02/09/f85b29d6-ee11-11e6-b4ff-ac2cf509efe5_story.html

Its utterly astonishing how they can get so much leverage over a couple of scandals involving Hillary Clinton, and yet under the new administration its apparently okay to have a couple of those a day. Its ludicrous.

Because the ethics committee is run by a Republican?

This was up before

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/j ... all-234882

The Reps (generally) have absolutely no interest in "playing fair" - they just want to get their way (despite all the slagging off Obama/Biden did a lot of "reaching across the asile" during their tenure)
