US Politics - Trump cancels summit having to do with North Korea

Despite a huge death/injury toll indicating some speed, and the video - it's already becoming a 'fact'it wasn't malicious and the driver was scared/lost control, or was hit by a protestors rock and swerved.

He could have blacked out at the wheel, the jolt of the crash into the back of the other car then made his hand on the gear stick pull backwards, sending the car into reverse. The driver then thankfully woke up and regained control of the vehicle.

It's this aspect I can't quite fathom. The aftermath where people will talk themselves into believing this isn't really terrorism and handwave away the concerns of minority groups with disarming statements like 'All Lives Matter'.

Maybe these events will be the wake up call to American society that appeasement really is no longer acceptable. I hope it might be.

I hope it was this guy but there is an inconsistency compared to reports of the tragedy:

The photographer Pat Jarrett, who was close by when the incident took place, told the Guardian: “A gray Dodge Charger plowed into a sedan and then into a minivan. Bodies flew. People were terrified and screaming. Those closest to it said it was definitely a violent attack. The driver, who people later described as a skinny white guy with a straggly beard, reversed out of there and drove off, the front end of his car all smashed up.”

There's no scraggly beard in his mugshot or the photo from earlier in the day. I'm sure his lawyer will be mentioning that.

Of course, very coincidental that he happened to be at the rally, eh?

Also, I assume that Trump has talked about violence on 'all sides' in order to shore up his base. But when that base involves Neo-Nazis, surely it must have made him think for a second that there's a problem there. Surely. I miss Obama.

He'd only think it was a problem if he thinks neo-Nazi support is a problem.

I'm not convinced Trump is an actual white supremacist (mainly because I think the only person he truly loves is himself and maybe Ivanka, although that's more like lust), but he knows he's relying on their support and so is happy to let them do their thing.

Neo-Nazi/white supremacists/alt-right are all scary and evil people. Trump types are even worse in a way, they don't believe it but will support and encourage it because it helps them.
