There does seem to be a massive group in the US at the mo basically going "We didn't vote for Trump or Hillary, therefore it's the Dem's fault Trump got in for putting up Hillary"

The idea of personal responsibly, or consequences of their refusal to compromise, seem to be completely alien to them

The mother of Heather Heyer - the woman killed after a white supremacist drove in to a crowd of anti-fascist protesters - has said she now refuses to talk to Donald Trump.

Susan Bro said the President had initially tried to call her during her daughter's funeral, but that she now refused to take any of the "frantic" calls from his aides after he equated anti-fascist counter protesters with neo-Nazis.

How inevitable do we think the Tweet attack on he is?

Well, no he wouldn't.

I just have a different attitude to voting I guess and being the US election where I don't have a say, I can feel comfortable saying I wouldn't have voted. Maybe if I had the reality of voting, I may well have reluctantly voted for Hillary.

If the election over here was between say, May and Blair, I'd probably abstain, or might very, very reluctantly have to vote for May.

As CEOs, Republicans etc all desert Trump - one group's sticking with him. Fundementalist Christians

Donald Trump was forced to disband two business advisory councils and an infrastructure panel after some of America’s most prominent business leaders fled their posts, protesting against Trump’s statements appeasing white nationalist marchers at the weekend rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

But the president’s religious evangelical advisory board, a mix of radical born-again preachers, televangelists and conservative political influencers, still stands pristine. Not only have members avoided criticism of the president, while occasionally scolding the violence in general – some have been openly supportive of Trump’s statements assigning blame “on many sides” and slamming those who turned up to oppose the militant neo-Nazis.

Jerry Falwell Jr tweeted on Wednesday: “Finally, a leader in the White House. Jobs returning, North Korea backing down, bold truthful statement about Charlottesville tragedy. So proud of Donald Trump.” He did add, on Thursday, again via Twitter: “The truth as stated by Donald Trump is that violent white supremacists, Nazi, KKK and similar hate groups are pure evil and un-American,” but that may have been too little, too late for some.

Council member, preacher and Fox News commentator Robert Jeffress told a Christian TV channel: “Racism comes in all shapes, all sizes and, yes, all colors. If we’re going to denounce some racism, we ought to denounce all racism.”

It's OK to be a Tory, but it's not OK (for your mental wellbeing) to live in denial of being a Tory. If the above is true then you are for sure a Tory and should just admit it. ;)

The remaining members of a presidential arts and humanities panel resigned on Friday in yet another sign of growing national protest of President Trump’s recent comments on the violence in Charlottesville.

Members of the President’s Committee are drawn from Broadway, Hollywood, and the broader arts and entertainment community and said in a letter to Trump that “Your words and actions push us all further away from the freedoms we are guaranteed.”

“Reproach and censure in the strongest possible terms are necessary following your support of the hate groups and terrorists who killed and injured fellow Americans in Charlottesville,” the commissioners wrote in a letter sent to the White House on Friday morning. “The false equivalencies you push cannot stand. The Administration’s refusal to quickly and unequivocally condemn the cancer of hatred only further emboldens those who wish America ill. We cannot sit idly by, the way that your West Wing advisors have, without speaking out against your words and actions.”

“Supremacy, discrimination, and vitriol are not American values,” they added. “Your values are not American values. We must be better than this. We are better than this. If this is not clear to you, then we call on you to resign your office, too.”

Libertarians are a worse choice for government than just randomly picking people and telling them to run government departments as at least the randoms will mostly try even if they're gooseberry fool, libertarians just want to close vast sections of the government completely.
