How do you feel about James Corden?

And to be clear this is Nazis. Not "people you think are Nazis" or have got a funny mustache.

It's the ones drapped in Nazi symbols, screaming Nazi ideals and wearing a badge saying "I'm a Nazi, ask me how" etc

If in doubt - probably don't punch.

I do think there is a worry that any sort of violence against a group that is more inclined to violence itself would just result in a kind of arms race where you'd go from people punching Nazis, to the Nazis fighting back with knives (long knives, at night, perhaps?), or guns etc. I dunno, something to consider I guess.

One of my favourite scenes in all of cinema is when the racist guy in 12 Angry Men starts mouthing off about ethnic minorities and instead of the other 11 guys punching him, they all just turn their back on him and shame him into silence. I know it's not realistic, but I'd love to see that happen at a white supremacist rally. Just everyone there to protest it either staring back in stony silence or just doing a Poznan without the jumping and turning their backs on the knobheads en masse.

How I Became Fake News

I witnessed a terrorist attack in Charlottesville. Then the conspiracy theories began.

Guy responsible for providing evidence Charlottesville car attack was intentional turned into conspiracy by alt-right.

The Nazis have been doing that for decades.

In the last 10 years:

Over the past 10 years (2007-2016), domestic extremists of all kinds have killed at least 372 people in the United States. Of those deaths, approximately 74% were at the hands of right-wing extremists, about 24% of the victims were killed by domestic Islamic extremists, and the remainder were killed by left-wing extremists.

I get the joke there, but Trump is the big point here. Right wing extremists over the last 10 years have killed far more people in America than Jihadists (I think the Islamic extremist won the year 2001 though ;) ) and lefties combined. Now they have a guy in charge that will excuse their behaviour and will actively encourage them (bad hombres, Mexican’s are rapists, Muslims shouldn’t be allowed into the country etc etc). You’d expect that to embolden them and make them more open with their hatred, which will lead to even more violence from them.

Anti-fascists sitting back watching them saying “Ahh well, I am sure it will blow over, just a difference of opinion really” isn’t going to help. The whole alt-right movement was an absolute joke just a year or two ago, now look at it! They have the Presidency of the most powerful nation on Earth.

Now all we'll hear about is how the left hate freedom of speech and how poor alt-righters can't have their get together. Those poor little snowflakes just want to goose step to a Confederate statue while waving Nazi flags.

Yep, places like that will use any and all methods to create a conspiracy because they honestly think Liberals are responsible for everything bad that happens even if the evidence is obvious it was done by the right.
They could have someone commit a crime while shouting that they "Love Fox News and Hannity" and they would somehow twist it into a liberal plot even if the guys house was a shrine to both Fox and Hannity and he wrote letter stating his intentions.
They are literally that blind and yes I know people hate it when anyone uses the term literally but in this case I feel it's justified as the evidence that that's exactly what they do is pretty damning.

So Trump's rally tonight was terrifying, just complete incoherent ranting and lunacy. Business as usual for him, I suppose, but still. At least it gave us this.

Donald Trump has vowed to close down government if that is what it takes to build his wall along the Mexico border.

The US president told supporters at a "Make America Great Again" rally in Phoenix, Arizona, that the opposition Democrats were being "obstructionist".

During the 80-minute speech, he also took aim at the media, blaming them for giving far right groups "a platform".

Mr Trump also said he thought he would "probably end up terminating Nafta", the trade deal with Mexico and Canada.

Doesn't that sometimes happen when one of their political houses can't agree on a budget or something? Dunno how Trump could force it shut himself, though.

Well usually it would mean that budgets couldn't be agreed and so departments would be shut down as there would be no funding. Clearly Trump can't mean that as he can't fund a wall if the government is not dishing out any cash.

Maybe he means he will try and go full dictator, shut down Congress and be in charge of all budgets himself? His comments on the media would suggest that is what he means.

More likely he is talking his usual gooseberry fool to try and keep his supporters onside. Interesting that they seem happy enough with the idea of Trump being dictator though. :dread:
