Things are sticking to him, the problem is that he is now so covered in it that nobody knows what to grab at anymore.

I don’t think his ego would allow him to resign and flee, in his head he is the smartest and most popular guy ever! Everyone loves him! He can outsmart everyone!

Also his intelligence is so low, that I doubt he would even be able to imagine getting away with things by quitting and letting Pence pardon him. If Pence said “Pardon?” Trump would say “YOU DAMN WELL HEARD ME THE FIRST TIME!”.

I despair at how long it is taking to get shot of him. It's been clear for a long time that he really isn't fit for office.

It is incredible that in response to any dodgy accusation, he usually screams fake news, hilary or just turtles until the problem goes away. And it is working.

I hate to sound like a stepdad, but I'm really disappointed in his supporters.

I despise the Republican Party, I used to just hate them but the absolute bullsh*t they pull to cover for trump is incredulous. They’re all on the cool aid cos they are going to get F*cked in the mid terms. I wish the Democrats had some balls too. Idiots.

The mid terms are going to be really interesting. If the Dems can take control of both houses of Congress, then Trump will be in a massive amount of trouble. If the Republicans hold on, then the world is strawberry floated.

I'm sure I've read them taking both houses is going to be highly difficult.

House is quite a good shout.

It's the senate that's the problem. Picking up two seats in Arizona and Nevada is definitely doable and if John McCain has to step down, that's another possibility. The problem is that they are defending so many seats in red states, there's Dem seats up in states Trump won by 20 points.

Don't they only have to take the House to start the impeachment process, though?

They’d need both to push it through though.

They'd need a very clear majority in the Senate to impeach with the intent to remove from office, and the GOP is clearly not going to do that, nor are the Democrats likely to command such a majority this side of 2020/2022.

He will be impeached by the House if the Democrats flip it (here's hoping!), if only because pressure from the increasingly hard-line base is constant and growing, but it isn't likely that removal proceedings will ever happen. More likely is Trump losing the 2020 election and being prosecuted like a normal citizen shortly thereafter, if it has been found that he committed any crimes.

It's deeply depressing that no matter how much of a disaster he is he has huge support anyway.
It's an odd thing that many Americans see government as the enemy and see any failure as evidence of this while at the same time being totally blind to any successes.

President Donald Trump has for the first time said he is prepared to be questioned under oath as part of an investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 US election.

He said he was "looking forward" to it, subject to the advice of his lawyers.

I can see why his lawyers would gooseberry fool themselves.

Even if Trump is innocent of all the claims (very unlikely I know!), if you were his lawyer would you trust him not completely strawberry float up and lie under oath? :slol:

Yesterday also saw a huge development in the Nunes memo story. Assistant Attorney General, Stephen Boyd, a Trump appointee, sent the following letter to Nunes. It accuses him of putting security and investigations at risk and violating the terms of access to the material. It also flatly denies any misuse of FISA. And he won't share his memo with the DOJ/FBI and also Senator Richard Burr (GOP).

The truth? You want the truth?! You'll get the best truth with me, the biggest truth, the largest truth this country has seen in decades, possibly ever. The people say I give the best truth, that's what they're saying, the greatest truth given by any President ever, believe me.

“Thank you for swearing the oath. So Mr President, have you ever been in contact with the Russians?”
“No”
“Excellent, thank you sir I think that is all we need, oh one more thing, how was the weather in Moscow?”
“Wonderful, the best weather, warm in the summer and freezing in the winter just how you want a country to be, I remember when my friend Vlad took me on a tour and offered me millions just to hang with him, the best people you know?”
“Wait, Vladimir Putin gave you money?”
“Of course, everyone gives me money, I am tremendous, just the best, Vlad couldn’t help but hand over money when I told him how great I am”
“Err but you said you didn’t have contac….”
“I have never been to Russia!”
“But you just said….”
“FAKE NEWS, you are a bad hombre and I am out of here”
