The reactions of the Republican press and pundits were exactly the same for Colbert's brutal roast as they were for Wolf's: "the jokes bombed, the President should always be respected, this was disgraceful, everyone thought it was horrible" etc etc. At least Bush had the balls to show up.

The right wingers are all up in arms because Wolf made a joke about eye shadow. And she didn’t even make the eye shadow a negative.

Whats more surprising is a lot of left wing news people jumping on the bandwagon to condemn Wolf too. Some people were saying its because the end of her speech roasted ALL news media for helping create Trump and profiting off him. Others just saying its because the left are pussified and dont want to be seen to be supporting someone who "roasted a mother of two for her looks" (even tho she didn't).

Yeah, the left wing doesn’t seem too impressed either. Wolf was absolutely right, the media are to blame for the current gooseberry fool we are living through.

Last night was one of those moments when there was almost too much news to process. At any other time (or at least in any other Presidency) this would have been massive.

On top of that, the National Inquirer (the State tabloid these days) went after Michael Cohen.

PostRe: US Politics - 49 questions for Trump from FBI leaked
by Alvin Flummux » Tue May 01, 2018 11:12 am

The Enquirer is owned by that Trump chum who killed Stormy Daniels' story, among others, so if they're attacking Cohen, they must believe he's done gone flipped.

Question is, how much trust do we put in whatever he tells Mueller's investigators?

A lot of commentators I read this morning think that this list of questions means that Trump will never speak to Mueller.

Basically the argument is that if Mueller knows the answer to these questions already (and that's probably true) Trump can't admit to them, such as knowing about the meeting at Trump Tower, without incriminating himself, but if Mueller knows the answer then he can't lie or that is perjury. Either way, these questions are not good news for Donny.

Yeah, Mueller doesn't really need to interview Trump, because he's gathered so much evidence already that all the important questions have already been answered, and those that haven't are on the way or don't matter.

The main problem now is the whole situation has become so partisan and toxic that his supporters will claim anything to get Trump off the hook.
Meuller can have solid proof and present it in court and Fox news will call foul anyway and make up some bullshit and his fans will lap it up and it will become the truth to them and they will not accept anything else.
These are the same people who will claim liberalism is a mental illness and liberalism to them is anything even slightly to the left of them.

I fully expect them to still be completely under the spell of Trump even if Trump is indicted and stuck in prison for life as he'll become a focus point of the struggle for the real America only they know how to run.

Trump's been prepping his supporters to disbelieve any negative conclusions by any probe for a long time now, via Twitter and in his rallies.

It's really quite amazing we've all just become used to the President just constantly tweeting whatever bullshit that pops into his head.
I really have no idea how Americans think the rest of the world copes with leaders who have some thought control and don't feel the need to respond to anything and everything at all times. The idea that a guy as self centred as Trump is in this for the good of average American's would be laughable if it wasn't so serious and real.

The sooner we see his tax returns and see just how much he's screwed people throughout his life the better for all involved but I have a feeling his conservative fans will say "Screwing people is good for business so it's fine" all the while being exactly the type of people he'd screw without a second or even first thought.

I honestly think the stereotypical 80's guy from Futurama would make a better President.
