PostResident Evil 6 - New demos!
by Fargo » Thu Sep 02, 2010 4:51 pm

Capcom exec and legendary Mega Man designer, Keiji Inafune, has teased the announcement of Resident Evil 6.

In a recent interview with Spanish website 3D Juegos, Inafune said the success of Resident Evil 5 meant that Capcom is keen on getting a new title in the acclaimed horror franchise out soon.

"Given the great success that supposed for us Resident Evil 5, we want that Resident Evil 6 leaves as rapidly as possible to the market. In fact, you will shortly have the news of Capcom about this..." said Inafune.

Capcom recently said it would be involving its Western arm more in the game development process in order to avoid any repeats of the Resident Evil 5 'racism' controversy.

I hope it gets a major overhaul and possibly back to its roots.

Those Spaniards and their funny broken English....

Not back to its fixed camera roots, as far as I'm concerned.

Copy all the positive things/controls from Dead Space, add some Resi 1 and 2 flavoring. Resi 6 is now available for consumption ;)

Please no co-op!

Maybe they could make this first person?

Co-op made Resi 5 extremely entertaining.

I think a good idea would be to include co-op and for single player, have just one character in the story so you don't have to try and rely on your retarded AI teammate.

This better have co-op, in multiplayer it was a brilliant addition to the series. It was so much fun playing the game with a partner, especially when you had to be resourceful and tactical about your weapons. Sadly, the single play with co-op was gooseberry fool so they should have single player as one player but also allow the game to have a second player for multiplayer mode.

While it was fun in LiN, I have to admit that I found the fixed camera angles to be very limiting after getting used to the style of 4 & 5. I'd like to see them do a horror Resident Evil with the over-the-shoulder camera and gameplay (quickly getting through doors, destroyable environments etc..) of 4 & 5, and the ability to run (or rather walk) and gun would be nice too.

No, then it becomes Gears of War. It's not scary if you can run through a group of Zombies and shoot them at the same time.

It certainly oozed atmosphere which was severely lacking from the main game.

I would very much welcome a return to the old environments with co-op added.

Did you also love not fighting zombies and only facing those big axe guys? Also, what did you think about the underground section where you loose all your guns and have to do the same long winded puzzle 4 times?

I hated it. It had the atmosphere but nothing else.
