Was that a Jake level? There's a particularly annoying QTE near the end of chapter 2.

Finished Chapter 3. Not as bad as I thought it was gonna be. When I saw the big shark thing, I thought oh god, I've only seen a glimpse, I'm only halfway though aren't I? Then it was over 5 minutes later. Glad it's finished, though. The end boss :dread: Just one long QTE.

The plane flying bit. Almost as awful as the car bit in chapter 1.

Wait, have Chris and Leon ever actually met before? They're acting all buddy buddy and putting huge trust in each other when the only connection between them is that Leon was with Claire for a few hours in Raccoon City, not even a few hours, they were separated the entire game. Da fuq?

Are you supposed to play a chapter of each campaign at a time? 'Cos the plot is making no sense whatsoever. Just ran into Jake/Sherry and Chris/other guy in the space of 10 minutes and I've no idea what's going on with them.

The bit with the explosive roombas. All that was missing was the Benny Hill music.

The brief stair-climbing just before that with the classic Resident Evil camera angles was the best part of the game, and it was only 5 seconds long.

Aaaand that's Leon's campaign done. I actually enjoyed it on the whole as an action game. Middle of the road 6/10 or 7/10 in some parts quality. I just wish it didn't have the Resident Evil name attached to it. It got waaaaay too Hollywood in the last 2 chapters, just setpiece after explosion after hugely expensive-looking cut-scene, repeat x10. You can certainly see where the game's massive budget went. The devs just didn't know when to say enough is enough and turned everything up to 11 and threw everything in there. Far too much reliance on QTEs, Michael Bay set-pieces and a completely linear and dumbed-down mission structure are the biggest flaws. Then there's the hand-holding, removal of the item screen and the stupid herb system. Not what Resident Evil should be like at all. The game isn't remotely scary in any way nor has it any moments of terror. As far as positives go, it looks fantastic (some of the best cut-scenes I've ever seen), the controls and shooting mechanics are almost perfect (once you buy the steady aim upgrade) and the creature design is as good as ever for the series. But this is not Resident Evil.

Gonna try Ada's campaign tomorrow.

Isn't Ada's supposed to be the worst?

I haven't touched it since the launch, where I was playing as Jake and I have to climb up the snowy mountains. That level is so cheap. Bastards.

Ada chapter 1 was kinda gooseberry fool. Endless running down corridors of the world's largest submarine with an old-style puzzle thrown in for good measure. Can't believe there's no auto reload after you fire the crossbow. :fp:

The strawberry floating catacombs again!?! strawberry float off Ada.

Is the rest of her campaign gonna be like this, just re-threading old ground from the other campaigns? I did like the puzzles with the hanging bodies and trap door, though, even if they were very easy.

Yes. Her campaign is just her side of the story which you've already seen

There's a stealth section?  I didn't think it could get worse than Jake 2.

I think you only have to stealth it if you're playing as Sherry, but yes, it's terrible.
