Resident Evil 5 spent the last third of the game failing to be Gears of War, so they might as well copy it and do it right next time. :P

Seriously though, just because you can move and shoot doesn't suddenly take away the fear. Limiting your movement speed to a walk would be all they'd need to do to stop you always having the aim up, plus if they return to more tight corridors then you aren't going to be able to run past them anyway.

Agreed.

Deadspace didn't feel like Gears just because you could move and shoot.

To me, the main gameplay of Resident Evil was the restrictive movement, got you thinking like, should you stand there and shoot for a bit longer or turn and run. I didn't like how towards the end of RE5 everyone had guns.

I thought Resident Evil 6 was intented to be a series reboot? What with 5 getting so much stick due to its rather unfinished quality and casual "racism"

Did you also love not fighting zombies and only facing those big axe guys? Also, what did you think about the underground section where you loose all your guns and have to do the same long winded puzzle 4 times?

I hated it. It had the atmosphere but nothing else.

A proper zombie or 2 wouldn't have gone a miss. But fighting the massive Axe guys in a closed location on a harder difficulty was pure survival fun. Then that and that puzzle made it even better.

Atmosphere, setting, fan service and enemies were awesome. If anything Resi 5's dated combat held it back.

Still loved it.

The puzzle was awesome, took AGES on hardest setting to do and it was a huge relief when we finally did it. But then another one came and we had to do it all again.. then again and again. By that time, we were tired of it but couldn't really quit in fear of not being check pointed. It was a really lazy way of filling the game play time up.

Can you irresponsible, senseless, hyper-defective lunatics please stop praising Resi 5's co-op and asking for walk-and-shoot? Capcom are listening and you're ruining my Resident Evil.

Maybe they could make this first person?

With the success of RE5 Capcom are guaranteed to stick to a co-op formula. Very unfortunate for long time fans like myself whose main draw to the series was the sharp terrifying atmosphere that can really only be achieved by putting the player in certain situations alone.

Resident Evil has morphed into it's own new genre and games like Dead Space are the spiritual successor for survival horror fans. Hopefully Silent Hill will return to form with the next installment too, since we need more genuine survival horror games.

Rumour is Insomniac is working on one too, probably their multi platform game.

Multiplayer Co-op was amazing, didn't you think so? I agree in the single player it ruined the game but you can't fault being able to play the game through start to finish with a friend.

This is why there will be co-op again and why they probably don't care about people on the internet complaining that it wasn't very good. (which is also not true.)

I want an Urban Setting, Dead Space Controls, Umbrella, Seperate Single player and Co-Op modes, 4 - 6 player co-op similar to Outbreak, Claire Redfield as the main Character, Barry Burton, a ton of fan service.

I'd agree with the majority of that but no Claire please. :fp:

None of that if it's a total reboot, means a new cast? I like the idea of 4-6 co-op though, Outbreak was fun.

It was a DLC chapter explaining the events prior to Resident Evil 5. You controlled Chris and Jill in a replica? Spencer Mansion.

Outbreak on the DS would be incredible. I'm praying the DS Resi has co-op.

It's a shame they never created a new version of Outbreak. The game was rushed, the PS2 couldn't handle it but the core idea was fantastic. It was generation too early, and with the success of co-op in Resident Evil 5 and the massive success of games like Left 4 Dead I'm amazed Capcom haven't rebooted it. It's a license to print money but they just don't seem interested.

The idea of having the co-op mode and single player mode being seperate is all Resi 6 needs in my eyes, really. Not having to babysit inept AI would have turned Resi 5 from being a good game to a great one.
What a lot of people still struggle to let go of is that the franchise is - from a gameplay perspective - completely different to what it used to be, and will most likely never go back. All of this talk of fan service is cute, and it's not as if Capcom need to worry about delivering any sort of compelling narrative. So yeah, let's have Claire Redfield or somebody back, because a swarm of internet geeks asked for it.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Resi 5 a lot. It just isn't the best in the series by a long shot, that crown going to REmake, Resi 2 or perhaps Resi 4.

Resi 2 was plainly the best because it had guns so awesome they broke the screen.

Yeah I wasn't questioning your opinion. I was just trying to point out that seeing as it was their best selling game of the series, they'll stick to their winning ways.
