Moving in first person with a controller is notoriously bad for motion sickness because of the disconnect between the movement and what your brain is expecting. Hence the popularity with devs of the  'cockpit' experiences in VR. The lead character being in a wheelchair would sort out potential nausea issues. While the trailer clearly had the lead guy on his feet, I can't see a reason for the prominence of the picture of the wheelchair at the end unless it was related to VR. So maybe you walk in standard mode, but are in a wheelchair in VR mode?

No. That's stupid.

There's upstairs (attics?), basements, outside, the inevitable secret lab under the swimming pool etc.

There's no lifts, ramps etc and you wouldn't have an ultra, all-terrain off road wheel chair.

Uh huh, I appreciate that. But then why the wheelchair picture, and how will the movement work in VR?

Atmosphere and very badly

Yeah, the walking speed was the first thing I noticed (same with that Farpoint I think). Also, it looks strawberry floating terrifying.

I don't know what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't this.

I'm pretty sure the VR version is going to kill me.

Played through it. People are going to die playing these games in VR.

That said, while it felt like PT, it felt like a PT made by people without the skill and craftsmanship of those behind PT. Whereas that was genuinely bone chilling to play and I couldn't get through it on my own, this is just unsettling.

Very intrigued to see them shake up the RE franchise though.

I can't play horror games using a pad and a TV because I get freaked out... no way will I be playing these VR versions  .

Yeah, I think the scariest game I'll play in VR is going to be Fallout 4. No way am I dying at 30 years of age from a VR-induced heart attack.

These games NEED to come with health warnings. Big, blaring warnings like we used to get about epilepsy.

Same here, i'm an absolute wimp with any game that tries to use suspense and tension and i know there are people who are few worse than me. As i said in other threads before its weird with this game and other horror ones that they effect me as i really love horror films and they never get me worked up and stressed but i think when i am in control it puts me on edge more as i am the one pushing onwards. I get caught out by eerie noises as well .

By the time this game comes out, do you think it'll have VR support for PC and Xbox (through Occulus) as well? I really wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

:D i did do that but it took three goes with me being a little bit drunk to really get through it. I can't imagine how bad i would be playing either of the games in VR.

I loved the change from Survival Horror to the more action-driven RE4 but the series has definitely lost its way since, its refreshing to see they've decided to change the formula rather than persist with something that wasn't really working.

I've played PT, Outlast, Slender: The Arrival amongst other games in this style, always find them extremely scary and hard to play through but I do enjoy them. Even the demo play-through made me jump watching it so I'm intrigued to see more, not sure I have the balls to play it in VR though. Will be interesting to see what kind of combat it has given that combat has always been a major part of the RE games but rarely is part of these first person horror experiences, will need to get the right balance in order to keep the tension intact.

Anyone played the demo?

How does it compare to PT?

It's a similar style, very tight enclosed area and all first person with a torch and lots of strange sounds and weird things going on at points. It's a short demo but very well done i thought and looks great.I still think PT was better and was longer but it's decent.

The whole game is in first person then...very strange for a RE game. Bigger change than going to over the shoulder I guess.

I see the need to reinvent itself, but I'm not entirely happy with first person.
