Once you go through the 2 card gate door - it's effectively one long corridor (although you can go back, there's some points of no return).

Very happy with purchase and very happy with game - There's Free Content coming that...sounds very interesting.

Spoilers up to end!

Story was downhill from going through the keycard door. The faux-Saw stuff wasn't great, and the ship/mines complete changed the tone of the gameplay. Was best during the house/grounds

Did I miss something or were the fate of Isacc/Zoe not explained? For the matter how does the ship section happen if you chose to save Zoe...

The choice was pretty bobbins - I didn't know enough about either to feel a connection or interest in either. Choose Mia because "she's the wife" whereas Zoe, while helping me, was more on an unknown.

The realisation of who Eveline was - and where she's been the whole time - when it took you back to the photo you'd seen at the start (although you could have walked past it :)) was well done.

Chris is working for Blue Umbrella? And they seemed to have been the ones to free Zoe...but then didn't do much else while she "cleaned up"...that seems odd.

As soon as he said "redfield" I was like   I enjoyed the end, as the story was tied up really really well. Felt sorry for the baker family too, and never really clocked lucas was an agent till the very end

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Was working with umbrella and was immune to eveline, hence you never killed him and pretty sure he legged it.

This is my main issue with these kinds of first-person horror games - You can't move the character in the way that you'd move in real life. I was wondering if the VR would make it a bit better with actually being able to look over your shoulder or lean around corners or whatever but it still isn't going to totally fix it.

No. He had been given a serum so was immune and was infiltrating on behalf of someone else, my guess is old umbrella. Zoe was blatantly in contact with that bloke and getting orders when she was on the ship, Lucas never actually turned, or even showed signs of mutation, he just played along..

Yeah, it expanded on the point in much more hopeful way than I expected reading the pitch

I've no idea what you're talking about now - the laptop in the room near the end (where you make the toxin) says something like "the stuff you gave me cleared my head, she can't control me now - Mum and Dad are still under.

The person on that laptop had been infected, but was fighting it (had mostly?) fought it off - and was now spying/cleaning up for the e-mail contact.

I assumed it was Zoe trying to help people escape and could be seen to "clean up" - but then it could read as Lucus - he "cleans up" by killing them in the trap rooms.

Thats the one, eveline tried to take control but failed, because of the serum, but he played along, and is mental, in a bad way. He obviously has his orders from this other company, though now eveline is dead..i don't know if we'll see him again or find out his true motives, he disappeared pretty quick and never heard from again.

I think Glowy's right actually on reconsidering bits I'd seen - but he seems to have seen something else as well

Yeah - the room could be Lucas' - it would explain all the traps around it.

That leaves Zoe horribly underexplained then (how she lasted so long, where was she helping people from etc).

He was still infected and then cured though :P

And they never explained why your hand healed so well :P

I don't know what it is about the boss fights that makes them so unenjoyable, its like a combination of the sluggish controls, and the fact that the game doesn't seem to really let you know if youre actually doing damage to the boss either. She has an obvious weak spot yeah, but after unloading every shotgun shell and pistol round I had she was still going strong. Maybe theres an environmental way to defeat her or something. Either way, these boss fights are shitting all over a quality game.

Drop into the barn and shoot the strawberry float out of her. Was pretty easy tbf. First time I got stuck in a corner and was my own fault. The boss fights are the worst thing in this

Yeah I tried that. Shot her right up her wasp-filled banana split. Didn't seem to do much damage. I found the grenade launcher tho so ill try that next time. I'm dreading doing these fights on any higher difficulties.

Spoiler about new game +

You get a stupidly powerful handgun once youve finished it, so it makes it much easier to conserve ammo. Also anything fire really hurts, so yeah the grenade launcher is great.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

There's not NG+ etc is there? You just start over and "some" special items are in your box?

Tempted the 2 files 1 coin I missed are taunting me - but I expect I'd have to get them all in 1 play through.

There's a trophy for a 4 hour run through!

No there isn't, I meant second run through, bit annoyed you don't keep your stuff, that would have made it fun, gutted because I held back my magnum just in case :x

Holy Moly that end credit sequence was sick :datass:

Really great effort from Capcom, very pleased that I picked it up on release. I'm not sure about it's Resi credentials but it's great that the series can mix and mash it up like this. Didn't really have any problem with the ending sequence. I enjoyed the House but I never really felt like you got to spend that much time in it and it wasn't big enough to explore so when I left I wasn't particularly fussed that the rest of the game took place elsewhere. The combat was solid enough, I get the movement complaints, it makes some of it a right pain in the arse, but in order for the rest of the game to work it needs to have that drawback. Bosses didn't really trouble me and they were fun engagements, I didn't particularly like the regular enemy design, in fact it left a lot to be desired, just so boring and plain. Story was ok, would have liked more connections to mainline series though maybe I missed a bunch because I'm not that familiar with it. Overall though, great atmosphere, great new place to take the series and a really quality 14 or so hours (would have liked another 2 or 3 to be honest). Can definitely see myself going through a second time and hoovering up what I missed.
