I completely missed that puzzle by the looks of it.

Just finished this for the first time last night and I strawberry floating loved it. The ship wasn't nearly as boring as I'd been led to believe, but a lack of enemy variation did weaken the tension from that point onwards. Also had that classic Res thing of sitting on all the best weapons and ammo for as long as possible so when it came to final boss fight I was armed with half a small army worth of munitions which made it an absolute breeze. When I think of the strawberry floating fights I bossed through using only a knife or something in order to conserve ammo... :fp:

Same here, I finished the game with only my shotgun out of ammo, and I had enough health sprays left to safely cope with injuries from a small scale war.

Finally finished this on the weekend, bloody fantastic game. A welcome return to the Resi series. My only two gripes, the first, lack of variation to the monsters. Once you seen one Molded, you've seen 'em all! And second, the boss battle at the end was far too easy. Other than that, bloody great game. Might even get the season pass to play the 'Banned' footage tapes. 8.5/10

Finished it yesterday. Really enjoyed it but as others have said the tension really drops off as the game goes on. That opening where you are defenceless hiding from Jack is up there with the most tense gaming experiences I've had.

Once you have weapons the fear is no longer there to the same extent.

I was surprised that there was no physical
Boss fight with Lucas though. That section seemed unresolved to me.

And does anyone else think
The ending is a hallucination brought on by Eveline infecting you and you don't get the happy ending but rather you died

Thinking back on this game, it really was incredible, the whole cohesive world. The boss fights were a little odd but the rest was excellent.

Any clue anywhere about the Chris Redfield free download that's coming in the spring?

So, am I correct that this game
took place before the original resident evil? Making this the real resident evil origin story and making way for a complete reboot of the earlier games but in first person.

Also, imagine Dead Space in first person.

No. there is a newspaper article "16 years since raccoon city incident"

Also it's called Resident Evil 7. Which as a sidebar is admittedly surprising as there's almost no connection with any of the series. They could have easily gone full reboot.

During the game or in the credits? Chris was part of the umbrella team that he was in during the first game.

In-game. The newspaper is on the boat. STARS was a police unit not Umbrella and the unit at the end of 7 wasn't STARS.

Chris was a member of S.T.A.R.S. not Umbrella. Umbrella were the evil corporation meddling in Bio-weapons research.

I never played Resi 6 so no idea why Chris is working for them or why they have a blue logo now.

Oh right, that all makes sense. I stand corrected. So Redfield could be a relative, a clone or just a red herring to mess with people's heads.

No it's him, they confirmed it basically when saying they completely redone his appearance to fit in more with 7's realistic look rather than Sted-Head boulder basher.

But that wasn't Umbrella that caused the events of this game right? It was a rival company and Umbrella were just keeping an eye on the situation for whatever reason. To steel it, destroy it or just out of pure curiosity

So many unanswered questions :shifty:

Speaking of unanswered questions

what happened to Lucas? From logs in salt mine it implies he was free of control despite knowing his family were controlled. But this makes no sense since at start Jack cuts his arm off and it grows back, plus he did the whole jigsaw killer thing. A log also mentions he was talking to someone and they say "you can probably guess who" so who are they talking about?

I think it's either full of deliberately misleading plot holes to go along with some of the awful voice acting(zoe) or its just season 7 walking dead levels of bad writing.
