You'd have still been on edge, boarding up a room only to find a hunter bash through while you're calmly organising your inventory? :dread:

The pull this stunt with Lisa Trevor in this very game!

Yeah, but imagine it happening with every monster :dread:

So you are saying that under the current system, hunters are so pissed off with loading screens that they can't be arsed to chase you into another room?

Finished my normal Chris re-play of this tonight. What a game. Still holds up wonderfully. Took me 12 hours, though. :dread: I'm losing my touch. I had forgotten how short the lab section is. I thought it was a lengthier section of the game than that, though I might be confusing this with Resi 2.

Started this again yesterday on hard mode with Jill. strawberry floats sake, after playing 7 :dread: The complete lack of ammo is disturbing.

Still love it

Started this with the Mrs yesterday. She likes playing spooky games with me as she's too scared to play them herself but enjoys helping out with puzzles etc. We played until dawn together and it was great so i sugested this as it was clearly an influence.

Anyway, I've never played the remake, just the original game and I forgot how great and utterly frustrating it can be. The item limit when all you want to do is use a herb :dread: If my inventory is full, why can't I just use it there and then?

Also, strawberry floating he'll this got hard fast, those crimson strawberry floaters don't mess around. Now I wish I hadn't killed so many zombies as there's corridors just full of them now.

Currently trying to get the Skyrim serum back to that guy without getting gang banged by crimsons.

The weapon aiming is strawberry floating awful :dread:

You eventually learn the best tactic is to just run past zombies like the beginning of Resi 2 until you have better weapons. It's more easily said than done though thanks to the horrendous controls.

I honestly don't know how I persevered through some of these games in the past, they're really unforgiving. But if they weren't, you wouldn't really feel any impending threat. It's also the nonchalant way you slowly pass away at the hands of a face kissing zombie that adds so much to the atmosphere. Of course in any other game you'd just blow them to pieces.

I literally couldn't complete Resident Evil 2 without cheats.

I believe I got to some beast boss in a facility near or at the end. I was only 12 or something.

Sadly I've never played through probably partly due to a lack of an up to date version although I have the semi-rare Dreamcast version which is 60fps VGA and has a health monitor on the VMU which is handy.

I played the N64 version of Resi 2 at a friends house way back when, so it had cheat codes built-in like back in the 16-bit days
Also I was and am still too cowardly to play Resi 1-3 when I'm in a house by myself.

I beat RE2 on GC using the unlimited ammo cheat and I beat RE3 on PSone as I had a chipped copy that had cheat codes you could switch on and off so used unlimited ammo with that as well

Never beat REmake or Zero yet

I was for a short period of time a REmake specialist. Managed to beat it in under 2hrs (no cheats, fresh start). The difficult part of that is remembering where to go in the mansion and when.

Never got around to playing 2 or 3 but I might try and jump on the RE2 remaster.

I wasted an entire clip on the first zombie forgetting that it comes through the door and Barry takes care of it too. I also used a load of shotgun shells shooting at and missing a single dog outside. Now I have none to deal with the crimson heads

I've only beat Resi 2 once, Leon's story. I would not be familiar with it really. Same with Resi 3 and Code Veronica.

Although I remember Resi 3 being easy as hell. Code Veronica was no strawberry floating slouch for me.

I used to know Resi 2 inside and out. Could finish each scenario in an hour and twenty without saving. I'm sure that's probably not that impressive to a genuine master but to me it was.

I'm getting desperate for news on the remake now. I really want it to be in the style of REmake but I'm expecting them to go with a Resi 7 style of gameplay.

First person? Nah. Itll be a remake in the mould of the olld game i reckon. Too much work otherwise.

Made some good progress last night. Got the armour key, 3 of the masks and killed the plant thing off. Off to the snake next although I didn't get to that guy quick enough to give him the serum so does that mean I have to actually fight the snake? I can't remember.
