I had a go on it last night, very hard to get used to the controls and fixed camera angles. I'm too used to the smoother controls of modern games :fp:

Same here. Trying to aim for strawberry floating head though, unless I'm missing something with the new controls, it's garbage tier. Always was and always will be.

Still, it looks morbidly pretty at times though

Walking around is easy enough, but as soon as you have to do combat - panic, confusion and death :(

This. Though I don't have an issue with the fixed camera.

And I'm struggling with Resi4, I keep trying to control Leon like a FPS, but the controls won't let me. Which is quite funny as I went out last weekend and bought The Evil Within (again) which is the same type of game, but with fluent controls!

I've probably just not looked hard enough but I couldn't find an option to switch to more modern controls, like what Konami offered in the MGS:HD Remake, where you could play the earlier MGS games but with the controls of MGS4. Did I miss it, or does that option just not exist?

I believe the alternative controls are turned on by default.

Changing the control scheme with which buttons do what helped me a tad.

Aren't headshots completely RNG since you can only aim straight forward or slightly up and down? Or have the new controls allowed for more precision?

Aiming I missing something when it comes to storage? I can't drop items, I can't find a box to store things, becoming really frustrating.

It's random.

Pointing upwards with a shotgun, at close range would guarantee a hit but I've never tried it with a handgun. :slol:

Yep, the controls and games are laughable really. I gave up on the GC version of RE but have since completed this and RE0 on the PS4. The script is gooseberry fool, the controls are gooseberry fool (although the new option now lets you choose between "gooseberry fool" and "slightly less gooseberry fool") and some of the puzzles have no logic to them.

Burn RE lovers.

Wesker is the biggest asshole in this and I'm only 5 minutes in. It's obvious from the second the game starts he's pretty much going to be evil.

"guys, guys I'll totally be in this hall when you get back"

*runs off*

Is it the shades that give him away?

I was floored by the twist back then on the PS1 version. To be fair I was a stupid teenager who are high on hormones at the time.

Don't forget I'm helped along by the fact I already know the story of the series, but it's the fact he promises to wait somewhere and strawberry floats off after 5 minutes. He also suggests you split up in a mansion you've just figured out probably isn't going to be safe.

This game is cryptic as hell though, I died on the first key puzzle, then died trying to stab the dog I left in to death. It's a lot of fun, but hard as hell o_o

So after finally figuring out what to do (I got the book of curses last time and forgot to examine it), it was going great. Only problem is I used all my ammo killing zombies I didn't need to kill and died going through the hall.

Oh well, I'm making progress!

I've never played resi 1 other than a very quick stint on the GC, which i found to be very difficult, mostly because i probably had ADHD and didn't listen for the clues. Now though the game is VERY enjoyable, i think it's so complete and the pacing is awesome. Can't believe the best - longest games came out in ps1 era.

Headshots are easy, you just aim up and wait for them to lunge at you.

strawberry float. The. Red. Zombies.

The first time one got back up I was like meh and ran away, but the one in the backwards C shaped hallway can strawberry float off. It's dead, but it kept making me jump despite knowing it was there.
