He played through the whole game in a four hour stream and with a time of 3h08m. I think the difference is down to various pauses and game overs, so that's the GRcade time to beat set! Also of note was finding both a new bug I need to fix and a new boss speedrun strat I'm surprised but happy works!

There was also a fun moment where Aaron was trying to explain what his minigame tactic of "exist within a six" could possibly mean :lol:

If you're still up for it we should set a date for a second playthrough where I can jump on a call and we can stream some secrets!

It is a truly excellent experience, and I wholeheartedly agree with the description of "no filler".

I genuinely think your dungeon design is brilliant, that third one is pitched perfectly and I love the slow peel-back of the fourth. Satisfying final boss, too!

Very down to do a secrets+stream call! Perhaps we could mark the one month release anniversary (so around 12th October?) with it, give people a chance to finish it themselves first?

As I say the third dungeon is my personal favourite, it does seem that people generally agree which is nice! I wanted them all to have their own distinct character. The first is short, simple and tutorially, which isn't in its favour when comparing dungeons but I think is what it needs to be as the first. The second is gimmicky and less "traditional", I think it's the funniest! The third is the closest I think I get to a "proper" zelda dungeon and has the most connectedness complexity. The fourth is more of a puzzle-rush ahead of the final boss!

My Playdate arrived yesterday and, naturally, this was the first game I loaded up on it. I must be completely rubbish because I can't find a way out of the first few screens. I've found the village and the forest, and several shortcuts through the trees, but everywhere leads to a barrier that I can't pass.

I'm guessing (as there's a stat for bushes cut down), that I need to find something to clear the way, but I haven't seen anything like that yet.

Help!

Finding a way through the woods is what you need to do, you're maybe just missing the right hidden path. If you haven't got past the second screen in the woods, look where there's another bridge across the stream and try to find a hidden path to reach it. You can also check out this Hints and Tips page if needed!

If you jump to just after 25 minutes in Aaron's stream you can see him get through that part of the woods

Thanks for the hints. I did just miss the right path. I've completed the first shrine now and am off into the desert.

Having scorned the Game Boy back in the day for being too primitive, I'm feeling strangely drawn to this game and the Playdate in general. It's so easy to carry around and just pick up and play.

I got up to the end of the second temple/dungeon* last time just haven't found a chance to get back to it.

*well I think that's how I'd classify it - it was the jail/prison section you get dropped into and then have to escape from? Loved the joking around about the map/compass and lack of inputs on the Playdate! :lol:

Yes! I am very excited! I caught a couple of the secrets on my first playthrough but can't wait to see what else you've hidden in there!

This sounds like fun! I recall aayl streaming Unawakening and that was a terrific show. I really want to dial in to the session on Monday night although I'm not sure that I'll get a chance to try Resonant beforehand. I would like to, though, so that I'm familiar with things before aayl's showcase. Thanks for the heads-up!
