Respawn Entertainment not making 'BIG' E3 Announcement

Respawn Entertainment founders Jason West and Vince Zampella -- the executives who were dramatically fired from Modern Warfare 2 developer Infinity Ward back in March -- will make an announcement during E3 next week.

The tease comes by way of a Facebook post from the duo, saying "big time announcement at E3 next week. stay tuned, kiddies!"

It is unknown what the announcement might entail, as it is hard to imagine that Respawn has much in the way of a product to show after just two months in business. We'll have more on this story the minute it develops, so stay tuned to 1UP's E3 coverage for updates!

Hmm it can' t be that big seeing as they won't have had time to really develop anything.

Unless they've acquired a license already.

I'm sure they came away from Activision with idea's they wanted to work on for some time. I think there's definately a chance a small insight to a game they want to create, maybe with concept screens/video, will accentuate the direction the team will be going moving forward.

I also expect that technology will be built from scratch as well i.e. I doubt they would be using IW4 any longer.

I thought games took years to develop so whatever they are announcing is unlikely to get released before Christmas 2012 so I'm finding it hard to get excited.
I'm getting fed up with games being announced and then not being released for years as I'm almost sick to death of them before I've even played the game.

Will a game journo please find out if these Facebook/Twitter accounts are even real before posting their news?

A 'big' announcement would be something along the lines of: "hey, we're actually going to try something new instead of making yet another FPS 'cos that's all we seem capable of making!"

Seriously, we've all seen from Infinity Ward that the storytelling potential is there so surely Respawn could some up with something like an Action-RPG or maybe even some kind of third person action game to rival Uncharted?

I'd rather they stick to what they're good at, rather than risk producing something that is utterly gooseberry fool.

Can you imagine the gooseberry fools it would put up Activision if Respawn was unveiled as the next Medal of Honour developer?

EA will not be showing new project from West and Zampella.

Electronic Arts confirmed to IGN this morning it will not be making any announcements at E3 next week about the upcoming project from Respawn Entertainment.

This news comes a day after various media reports suggested EA would be revealing new information after a purported Facebook profile from studio heads Jason West and Vince Zampella teased an announcement at the show.
