2K Bopopolos :datass:

Gloriously tricky, took me well over 30 attempts and loved every minute. Proper difficulty :)

Got it in Sainsbury's. My partner and I are going to play through the whole thing in co-op just like we did with DKCR.

Onto World 5-2 now.

I'm really enjoying the challenge of this. It's nice to play a game which makes you think about your approach to certain parts of the levels, rather than just letting you blast through.

I'd really recommend not fussing about collecting everything on your first play through. I cruised through to lvl 6-2 then stopped and have gone back to 100% earlier levels and am really enjoying doing so. I've 100% the first island (shame you get nothing for Golds on time trials) and have got all KONGs and puzzle pieces on World 2.

Really enjoying this so far, it seems every bit a 90% game, not sure why it's only got an 82% average.

Did anyone else have to get used to the slight delay in jumping after playing SM3DW?

Don't know what you mean.

It's a fantastic game no doubt but review scores between 8-9 seem fair to me. It doesn't really do a whole lot new and from what I've played its a bit of a toss up as to whether it's better than Returns. It should really have online co-op as well.

Credit to Retro though on producing yet another game of outstanding quality, is there another developer around at the moment with such a brilliant hit ratio. It would be interesting to hear about how the sequel came about as with a console more powerful than the PS3 beneath them I'd like to think they were more ambitious than a, albeit fantastic, 2D platformer sequel. Given the talent they've got I wish they could go on to do stuff as adventurous as Naughty Dog but I kind of wonder if they're too close to Nintendo to do that.

Would love to know more about Retro in general, they seem such a quiet studio.

Got bored. Tried a quick painting in shop with this pen thing I have laying around. I'm terrible with it. :dread: Thank god for filters. I was always going to put the filter on anyway.

Anyway, back to the game. 6-A! :datass:

Finished up to 1-5 after playing it on and off today. The music, the difficulty curve, the new characters.... God damn this is great.

The Minecart having a health bar as well makes this a hell of a lot less annoying than Returns/Returns 3D.

Just finished off World 5. The intro to the Boss made me laugh.

The graphics are lovely, at least on a par with Rayman Legends. It makes NSMBU that much more disappointing visually in hindsight.

Think this is the best game on WiiU for me, certainly the best Nintendo published game.

15 hours plus to get to that point. Considering I beat fully DKCR in 9 hours, this game seemed much longer.

Is there a final world unlocked once you beat all the K levels?

Yes, it has three levels, by the looks of things.

Do you get anything for getting Gold in all the time trials?

My god the music in world 2-1. This is just beyond my expectations music wise and if it gets better from here then I'll have to say this has one of the best game soundtracks of all time.

I have no idea, haven't really tried a time trail beyond the first level.

I finished off World 6 this evening.

The final boss took me quite a few attempts to beat. Once I'd got the hang of his attack patterns the first few phases of the battle were quite straightforward. The only difficult part is when he starts firing ice dragons - getting the timing of your jumps and crouches is tough in the heat of the battle. As with the rest of the game it was always enjoyable though and finally beating him was a great feeling! :P

I'm just going to focus on collecting KONG letters now. The game's great fun - probably my favourite on the Wii U.

The music is even better than that in SM3DW and I still can't understand why this game got so many 7s. It's a 9 for me so far.

People who review games also give the later Halo games 10s. They have no idea what they're talking about.
