By using NES graphics, Megaman 9 and 10 are far more precise than the SNES games. Limited animations often lead to tight controls.

Apparently it'll have loads of parodies of various other 80's films and games.

Fruits Punch Samurai wrote:I think the retro stuff annoys me in Megaman's case because Megaman 7 and 8 certainly looked better than 9 and 10. Imagine if a new Megaman could look like the recent Wario Land game! A lot of companies seem to rely on nostalgia for existing franchises these days going as far to make the games look like they came from then. It is an artistic choice I just don't like.

We have an approximate release date:

Eurogamer wrote:Retro City Rampage, the downloadable love-letter to the 8-bit era, launches on PlayStation Network and PS Vita this month.

The WiiWare and Xbox Live Arcade versions have a vague later in 2012 release window.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Looking forward to this, been keeping an eye on it since it was a NES clone of GTA 3. Hopefully its gonna live up to expectations.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/204630/

Its out in the US on PSN, but Europe is only 'later this month' and XBLA and WiiWare are still just '2012'.

Tempted to get it on PC and play it right now.

Got it on Steam, really good so far. I've spotted so many parodies including:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The A-Team
Magnum PI
Metal gear Solid
Bionic Commando

Hmm, looks like it may have failed SCEE cert - https://twitter.com/RetroCR/status/255766742700273664

Hope it really is this month and not in limbo like Dyad.

They seem to have a very strict PSN certification policy.

I think the big issue with the smaller developers is that they are trying to get the game out in lot's of European countries and do not have the cash for accurate translations which constantly gets them a fail.

EDIT: In saying that it looks like they only got a PEGI rating this afternoon.

And the whole intro is basically The Dark Knight.

God this game is good i cant believe its finally out, I remember when the dude was just remaking gta 3 back in 2002 or something. Come along way since then!

Looks a bit gooseberry fool really :shifty:

If it didnt look the way it does I doubt many people would be so hyped for it.

It's great. Give it a try.

I'd love to, will there be a demo? I do love me a bit of retro but I can see myself getting bored of this pretty quickly.

It looks retro, but incorporates modern seeming ideas, like free roaming world, decent controls, cover systems.

As for a demo, there isn't one on PC. Try PSN maybe? Not sure if it's like Xbox where every game gets a demo.

PSN has trials here and there, hopefully this will get one.

I can see it being suited to Vita more than the PS3.
