I'll look forward to trying it out!

On another note my brother has come through for me again and has sourced me an original Xbox. Picking it up tomorrow. Quite excited as I never owned one back in the day. I opted for the PS2.

To think that "back in the day" genuinely refers to when I was just 12.

I got my Xbox for my 17th birthday back in 2004. Back in the day now means I was fully pubic and everything.

Great stuff, Doom - the Xbox is a nice machine. A lot of folk mod it to run emulators but I just keep mine for playing the core games; although it isn't setup at present due to space challenges. There are plenty of decent titles to try out!

While I'm not buying new games, I am still adding older games to my collection and I have a few entries for this weekend. Nothing rare, just titles I'd like to own on a permanent basis. Picked up a few more PS3/Xbox 360 titles as well while they're still relatively cheap.

Pics on Saturday. :D

If anyone is remotely based near Nottingham I may in the future have a few things I want to give away that probably are not worth posting such as a original Xbox no wires or pad just the machine, a master system 2 the same, an N64 the same no power or anything just the base unit.... They are all working its just that I dont have enough pads and power leads and tv leads etc for everything.

Yea I'm going to keep mine stock I think! Had a look into modding it and it seems such a faff! Plus Cex are sell g zboz games for like 50p a pop. I know where I'm going on the weekend if I have chance!

Anyway I'm sharing this now coz I have yet another busy weekend... I think I have a problem... Heres another Gamecube haul I picked up today!

All discs in near mint condition and smash and sunshine have well kept manuals included too. Image

That looks to be a great set, Doom. Plenty of old-school wrestling action there and you can't go wrong with Melee and Sunshine!

Nice job, couple of top games there.

My local charity shops suck. Tons of DVDs, no games.

I do quiet well with charity shops but still have the experience where you see PS2 or PS 3 cases and run across to find it's just a pile full of FIFA same with the day and Wii but more a pile full of imagine games.

Picking up the GB player disc boxed is a real find.

I was rather chuffed with that. Paid a great price for the lot too and all the discs are in great condition. The gb player is clean as a whistle. Just need to find the actual player for me to use now!

It's a good investment, nice disk and player is around £80. I found a nice player for about £25, kept that and flipped my original one with a spare boxed disk for £81.

Although, the software on the disk is actually a little blurry and isn't full screen. So it's worth burning the homebrew, something I still need to do.

The Super GameBoy is actually better for gameboy games, the pixel ratio is correct and its sharper.

I actually bought my original GB player off a mate who had it but no GB games for some reason, so I nabbed it for just a tenner.

Probably my greatest retro hardware regret however is passing on an official GC RGB Scart cable for £2.50 in Dixons. :fp:

I'm pretty sure one of my TVs at the time would have accepted it as well. So I spent my entire GC era playing through RF and composite. In fact, I still do, but I use a Wii with 3rd party component cable that works beautifully.

At least your Secret Santa will have something to get you since Denny finally reunited you with B-T.

 I almost sound ungrateful, since the great Banjo Tooie incident has finally been fulfilled (I finally made it to the massive dinosaur level by the way, damn the game is actually pretty hard), I can turn my eye to lesser things :)

That is only in terms of hardware... Thankfully despite my sister selling all my MD games I kept the console somewhere else  so I haven't lost any consoles.

Now how about mere packaging.. my Metroid Fusion & Zero Mission boxes, for example :fp:

Maybe we should sort out a trade circle for filling the gaps in our collection we actually care about in exchange for the ones we don't *

*Disclaimer, no offers for twin snakes, TP or Paper Mario TTYD, that I have now wrapped up in plastic (with the discs in separate cases, so I can play them :) )

I guess this is the curse of retro, there's always something else to pick up!

I'll super try this weekend to snap my new MD games and SNES.. game (singular, sorta, but it's a real good'un).

I should photo some more of my megadrive collection, I have blooming loads but its all kind of in different places in the house.

I also opened a cupboard and it reminded me I have a lot more PS1 stuff than I sometimes think, funny how you can just forget you have things.

As I said above, nothing rare just several titles that I wanted to add to the collection.

Lovely stuff! Gosh takes me back NFS Underground and Underground 2! The general mission would be to buy the Mitsubishi Eclipse and pretend to be apart of Fast and Furious :datass: Another racing game for PS2 I loved was Juiced... I know what my next game purchases are going to be! *Trots off to eBay*
