Here's one of my few remaining bits of my gaming collection as i sold a load a few years ago. This was bought for me years ago as a birthday present from a good friend who was a boss at Gamestation at the time. The box is a bit crap but the console was in great condition.

Yes. I know it's only 2 but still.

Peeeeeeeeeeeedz! I have put quite a few hours into Ocarina even though I've not progressed *that* far (a fair way, though; I have Epona and evil has overtaken Hyrule Field). I may share my Ocarina game collection in a future Weekender...

That looks to be in excellent shape, degoose. The GC really was a force in the Resi timeline! You've made the first console post in the Weekender :toot: .

Okay, so here's my modest Gameboy collection. It's a bit of a mish-mash, but nevermind.

Bonus! A two-sided poster I found in the bag.

I have the original AC adapter in storage somewhere, along with the (mint) boxes for MGS and Pokemon with all the inserts, etc and a few of the plastic game cases. The two Mario games came bundled with the Gameboy and so I don't have boxes for those, and Wario Blast I bought cart-only for £3 off someone a few years ago. Wish I'd kept the box for the original bundle, but I don't think I did. This is what it originally looked like:

Until next week! :toot:

Lotus lands with some GameBoy-inspired spring sunshine! I really like the visual delight of GameBoy gear and that bold, vibrant yellow just yells "fun!". The console appears to be in lovely condition. Great stuff, and there is a nice collection of game paks, too. Of course, MGS stands out as it is quite a collectible. But... you've got me thinking, dude - MGS is a GB Color game so it wouldn't work on that GameBoy, right? Maybe you have the Color console, too?

Thanks for lighting up the first Weekender with that classic GB gear, Lotus!

:toot:  I love Jawa's running commentary...it's like it's some kind of talent or beauty contest (which I guess it is!) :)

I love the look of the original Gameboy too - totally retro. I also love the fact that Nintendo used to provide mini cases for the games...

I have the original Gameboy too, but in the original colour. Need to get some more games though as I only have Tetris right now.

Good spot jawa. Yes I have a GBA as well which I played MGS on. That's in a different case though with a different set of games. One for another week perhaps. :toot:

I think I might have shown some of this before in the Show & Tell thread. There's nothing really cool, or rare, and it's just the stuff I have that's easy to get to.

Some retro bootleg goodness. Does anyone remember going on Holiday and picking up these bootleg GameBoy collections? I have a few more, and I'm definitely going to try and dig them out. I think it's Chinese, judging by the text on the back, but a lot of these collections were the only way to pick up some Japanese stuff that never got released here, besides you know, actually importing them.

These ones are authentic. :shifty: Honest. I have way more GameBoy stuff, it's just buried deep in the loft, and I'm pretty sure there are spiders there.

Image

Some old school cartoon platformers. I have a load of Sonic games, but I have no idea where they are.

Image

Loved my fighting games and side scrolling beat 'em ups. Spent a huge amount of hours on Global Gladiators and Mega Bomberman.

Image
Image

I loved my Dreamcast. I loved the cases, and the box art. These are just a few of my favourites.

Image

I have a few more GameCube games, but they're generally rubbish, and well buried in the loft because they're rubbish. Gamecube was the time when I was first old enough to get a job, and was pretty much able to buy what I wanted (most of the time). I'm ashamed of my Player's Choice Metroid Prime though. I'm pretty sure I have 3 but I can't find it. Unless that came out for the Wii, in which case it'd be a completely different place. I'm so jealous of ITSMILNER's edition of Resident Evil 4 and Four Swords Adventures and Twilight Princess. Why did I buy mine on Wii. :( New misleading console hype.

Generally just what I could easily get my hands on, and generally things I recall enjoying.

Crumbs! BAKA is on a mission to explode this first Weekender with a magnificent videogaming menagerie of retro goodness!

BAKA wrote:...Spent a huge amount of hours on Global Gladiators and Mega Bomberman...

You've posted a lot of cool stuff, BAK, and these two are interesting. Usually one would expect a McDonalds gameplay tie-in to be terrible but, by most accounts, Global Gladiators was a cool game! Sticking with the Mega Drive, Mega Bomberman was a highly-regarded entry in the series. I believe it's extremely similar to the PC Engine's Bomberman '94... which recently appeared on the Virtual Console for the Wii U.

BAKA wrote:... I'm ashamed of my Player's Choice Metroid Prime though...

Oh, I wouldn't worry too much about that, BAKA. Some game collectors do indeed turn up their noses at "budget" re-releases, but personally I still think they're fun to have. The silver colour scheme of the GC Players Choice range looks pretty cool, too.

Finally... Two Crude Dudes! Man, I really want to get that. I love the over-the-top styling and, well, the name itself :-). It's a title that I've looked at a few times but never actually picked up. I'll look out for that in the future.

Thanks for rockin' up with such an eclectic set, dude!

I love the box-art on those Mega Drive games. Are they all side scrolling beat-em-ups?

I wish i had more retro stuff than what I have. I have very little in terms of games up until the Cube.

Most of them are just regular beat 'em ups. Two Crude Dudes and Splaterhouse 2 are side-scrolling, and I genuinely can't remember ExMutants. I think it's side scrolling, perhaps not technically a beat 'em up.

That is a great Gamecube collection - but there are 3 essentials missing :toot:

Wave Race Blue Storm
Super Monkey Ball
Sonic Mega Collection

Get those, and you have every GC game you need!
