I’m an import enthusiast so you’ll be seeing nothing but imports from me in here.

Ooh, you got an import N64? And what video hookup you using for it?

Latter's especially interesting as N64's one of the tricker systems to get good video output from. The 'deblur' technique that can be introduced to reduce the anti-aliasing is especially fascinating

I use the console to play in 60hz more than anything. I haven't got around to working on getting better output from it but I plan to eventually when I can afford to spend money on something like that.

HAHA I'm still here! I forgot I'm working all weekend (2 14 hour shifts) which doesn't give me any time to sort out and picture my stuff! Apologies for the delay but a post will be up tomorrow morning! :toot:

Lovely controller Jawa! As I've said before the Xbox was never on my radar so it's so nice seeing these things now! It's making me think about getting an Xbox... NO! I have too much stuff too collect for already! (that's what I keep telling myself)

Thought I'd make my first retro contribution this weekend as I've just recently had time to get back into endlessly trawling eBay listings. Quite surprising how prices have jumped over the past couple of years, particularly for Saturn stuff which I'm still aiming to get a full PAL collection for (doubtful I'll manage that now!)

Anyway, I got a new SCART cable so I've had chance to play the classic Panzer Dragoon Saga again:

Dug out the Edge issue with a review which summed it up perfectly, "It's a tragedy that the Saturn's standing will ensure Team Andromeda's adventure, with a radically different approach to FFVII, will enjoy a fraction of its rival's success - 9/10". This same issue had reviews of Burning Rangers (another great but poor selling Saturn game, 8/10), Final Fantasy Tactics (9/10), and previews of Castlevania 64, Tekken 3 and Zelda: Ocarina of Time!

Thanks, Doom! I think it's my fave retro controller.

Oh, wow, your Dragoon set looks terrific, Holpil! The Saturn games have legendary status. I have not played them but I do have the Orta version on Xbox and that was great to play. Thanks for sharing!

So here we are! I finally got around to sorting out a big gamecube pickup and had a tidy up of my game room/corner.

In the weeks to come I will do more specific features on certain games/consoles/accessories etc.

So here's the list of what I picked up last week:

1x Black gamecube w/ leads + controller
1x Modem expansion w/ box + instructions
1x Broadband expansion w/ box + instructions
1x Black controller box w/ instructions
1x Padded Gamecube carry case
1x Keyboard adapter
1x Gamecube Preview Dvd which was given out when you pre-ordered one
2x Black official 256MB w/boxes

Mario Kart: Double Dash
Phantasy Star Online 1 & 2
Phantasy Star Online 3
007: Nightfire
Resident Evil 4
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
Resident Evil 2
Lega Starwars Original Trilogy
MoH: Rising Sun
Viewtiful Joe Red Hot Rumble
LoZ: Collectors Edition
Die Hard: Vendetta
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
FF Crystal Chronicles limited edition box with GBA cable
Ace Golf
Super Monkey Ball (NTSC Copy)
Resident Evil
LoZ: The Windwaker limited edition
WWE Wrestlemainia X8
Rogue Squadron 3 Rebel Strike
Enter the Matrix
Action Replay Pro with Memory Card

Very happy with the pickup and with how everything looks on the shelf! Definitely has given a nice boost to my current Gamecube collection... I'm gonna need a bigger shelf...ImageImageImageImageImage

Oh wow! I like your "Nintendo Corner", Doom. It seems that your pickup included lots of cool 'Cube gear. It's nice that you now have a purple and a black GC alongside a good range titles. It looks like you're gonna have a ton of fun working through 'em!

I do actually have some new retro goodies but in the meantime I was checking my imgur and there are some cool posters

Doom Spoon, I have that GameCube preview disk but I forgot how I received it, I pre-ordered my GameCube at Dixons so I will have to track that down and put it somewhere safe if it wasn't widely available.

Great GC collection you got there!

I'm a bit late to the party as I was working this weekend and I didn't have anything to post until a chap at work today gave me a handful of unboxed GC games for nowt that he didn't want. Yes, he's a bit of a Bond fan.

You have no idea how much it upsets me seeing discs out of their boxes and on carpets/tables. How can he not have boxes? Who spends that kind of money on a game and then treats it like gooseberry fool?

I know. Its frustrating. I asked what he did with boxes and he said he couldn't remember. These were just chucked in a draw. Found them while having a clear out. :dread:

I only put them on my desk for the photo. They're now safely back in the disc wallet I have. They are in surprisingly good nick given the treatment they endured.

Still, it was kind of him to think to offer them to me rather than bin them.

Yea I pre-ordered mine from Game and I remember receiving one along with a poster advertising the release titles plus some other bumf. Definitely keep hold of it. I'm glad I have one again as my original went missing years a go.

Thanks man! Wow that was lucky! What's the condition of the discs like? You can always find replacement boxes on ebay quite reasonable. I found a very good condition Mario Part 6 box with all the paper work on ebay for about £6

Discs are okay all things considered. I might have butchers on ebay for replacement boxes when I've a spare five minutes.

PLAY IT LOUD! Then get told by your mum that if you can't play that bloody thing quietly then you won't play it at all.

I legit have a thing by Nyko I believe that plugged in to GBC turning it into an absolute monster to amplify the sound with a bigger speaker and produce rumble based on the sound level. It's totally rubbish but I hold onto it for some reason.

I guess it enhanced F1 World Grand Prix at the time (probably the most boring racing game of all time) but I recently traded that in CIB for about £2, may as well kept it.

I have 2 of those Gamecube preview dvd's I got mine from a local indy shop owner , what he told me was he was given them to hand out to people who were curious about the Gamecube to try and help sell it.. When he gave me them I already had a cube and I think the machine had been out about 6 months so I am guessing he had just forgot about them. No idea how common or rare they are.

That must have been a cool surprise, Gemini! GC discs look so dinky! It's a shame the guy lost the cases but it's still great to get some additions for your collection.

Dowb' . I remember the mini posters that Nintendo used to tuck into the Game Boy boxes, Gecko. I believe the "Play It Loud" tag was more of an American thing... or was it used in the UK, too?
