I tried playing a translated version of Rhythm Tengoku via emulator recently but it seems the patch is still a work in progress as it made the game pretty glitchy. I enjoyed what I played but the game just stopped working after a while, it didn't crash as such just the button prompt to progress the game didn't appear so you couldn't go any further.

Was randomly thinking about Sanic 2 today, my first ever console game. I was nearly sick with excitement just seeing that in the shops on a shelf, so i was white as a sheet when i got it for Christmas along with a megadrive :wub:

Was reading the thread and thinking about the random bits I have, searched a couple on eBay, turns out phantasy star ii and iii seem to have some actual value!

I was doing the same the other day with some of my more obscure Megadrive games, a few were listed at surprising prices:

I got Donkey Konga on a whim back in the day when I believe Amazon had it at a massively reduced price (something like 50% off) and whilst I felt it was a slightly ridiculous concept, I was curious enough to cough up the required amount. I actually hugely enjoyed it despite never conquering Gorilla mode and found that whilst rhythm games really aren't my forte, they can be quite fun.

I'm certain that I got Jungle Beat from someone here, be it via cash or trade. It's my favourite of the 3 for sure and definitely one I'm looking to return to in due course.

I picked up Konga the second a couple of years ago when I first decided to rebuild my GameCube collection. I got it for a brilliant price and it's close to if not mint condition. Haven't got around to playing it yet but I did very briefly give it a bash some time around 2006 during one of the times I met up with Dalagonash.

3 absolute gems :-)

I especially loved Donkey Konga. Yes, the graphics were horrendous, and the timing of the notes always seemed a bit off, but it was fun as hell, especially "You can't hurry love"! :toot:

I'll have to rebuy these games at some point - in the boxsets with the bongos!

Is your carpet riddled with some kind of disease? My carpet is a year old I am am pretty fastidious about keeping it clean so I don't see a problem.

Micro scratches though :dread:

My discs have never had so much as a fingerprint on them so seeing one on a carpet makes me twitch.

WHAT'S ON THE MEMORY CARD?

I found this in a Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain box this morning during a clear out. It's not mine, I must have acquired it when I lived in a student flat. My friend Alex (who I believe is the owner of the memory card because he had a black PS2) thinks it might have some create a wrestler files on there, but WHAT'S ON THE MEMORY CARD?

Answers tomorrow at some point. Points will be assigned as per the ZX Spectrum version of Mornington Crescent, obviously...

Here's my contribution for this weekend - another SNES game.

It's one of Konami's last SNES releases, and it went out with a bang! Great graphics, sounds and playability...pretty tough too.

The SNES game is completely different to the Megadrive game btw (despite having the same title). The first game in the series was the MD exclusive Rocket Knight Adventures, which sadly never made it to the SNES.

This is the official UK version, and in that condition, is probably worth over £100.

It's quite a rare game - released towards the end of the SNES' life and Konami's last great SNES games. It never got a Virtual Console release either, so it was only ever available on the SNES.

Right, time i contributed something to this thread beyond sarcasm:

I've decided to focus on my first ever console and add-ons...

My Mega Drive, Mega CD and 32X :wub:

Apologies for the gooseberry fool photos and locations, they were taken in the loft in the middle of a sort out :dread:

First off, the mega cd:

After years of lusting after one, i convinced my mum to buy me a second hand one from the local indie game shop. Fun fact number 1 - Mum and Dad then went on to have a fight about "going behind his back to buy it" that evening :fp:

I remember being gutted the access things didn't actually light up along the bottom, i wanted MOAR lights dammit.

Next up, the 32X :datass:

Looking back, you could tell the console was in trouble as i got this on launch day and there were already stickers on it trying to get you to justify buying one. Fun fact number 2 - Dad had promised to buy me one when it was called project mars, then when he saw how much it was he tried to get out of it (in the shop after taking me there to get it). I harped on so much that he got me all 3 launch games :toot:

I was a spoiled little gooseberry fool that day.

I loved that console :wub:

ASSEMBLE!

What a beast! Most of my mates had master systems, so i felt like a right boss playing star wars and virtua racing on it. They used to come round just to look at it :lol:

It really is a clusterfuck of a system :lol:

You've got to screw a metal plate on the bottom of the mega drive, put two fiddly things in the cartridge slot to shield the 32X, put mixing cables between all 3 consoles, have 3 power bricks.
