Which retro console from the past do you most like to 'dig' out now and again?

I bring out my dreamcast when I get disillusioned with current gen games and need something to remind me of yesteryears truly quality releases.

A quick go on shenmue and jet set radio remind me we never had it so good. I used to bring out the N64 before selling it years ago, but the Virtual Console is pretty good at reviving some memories.

Anyway, so which consoles do you bring out of then attic periodically?

N64, easily. Best console ever made by a long, long shot.

My Dreamcast and Megadrive are permanently hooked up to my TVs. Aside from that my Sega consoles tend to get the most love. Right now I also have my Gamecube and PS2 set up under the TV. Unfortunately many of my other consoles tend to get overlooked to the point where I'm considering selling them on... I'd rather them go to someone who would appreciate them instead of them being sat in my wardrobe gathering dust just to complete my collection.

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

N64--though I've never once put it away.

Dreamcast and PlayStation. I don't have that many games for either, unfortunately, and it's been a while since I've bought any. I'd probably play them more often if I were buying games more often.

I really should play through Resident Evil Code: Veronica and Jet Set Radio at some point. I haven't played them in ages.

Speaking of Resident Evil I still have the Director's Cut of 1 to play through, too. I did make a start but didn't get very far because I died. I haven't played it since and that was over a year ago.

I also have Rage Racer, Kurushi and Abe's Oddysee to finish off as well. Maybe it's a good thing my 360 isn't working!

The only reason my Dreamcast is put away is because there is only one VGA slot and thats for the 360. If I connect it up to the PC monitor I get a weird image with thick feint lines going down the screen, which is odd.

Don't really dig my old consoles out tbh. Most of my favourite games of yesteryear have been released on the download services already, but I love my SNES. Mainly for Secret of Mana, Illusions of Time, Mario Kart etc.

Shout goes out to the Playstation for Final Fantasy VII-IX, I quite often give them a dust off once every couple of years too.

Not sure if this counts but I love to get my old Amiga sometimes(very rarely) even if I don't play anything it's nice just to hear it working ( sad i know) and to have a quick fiddle with my Quickshot II Turbo joystick and the memories just come flooding back. Good times :). If I do play something it's usually scrolling shooters or beat'em ups.

I've got my Saturn, Dreamcast & SNES permanently hooked up on two TVs, sometimes N64 aswell, along with the 360/PS3/PS2 it's a fecking mess.

In this order:

Sega Saturn (Always set up in fact), just for Victory Goal and if I got em again - Virtua Fighter 1/2
Gamecube - Purely for Super Monkey Ball, Melee & Donkey Konga as well other games
NES - Duck Hunt, baby.
SNES/Mega Drive - Can't decide which would be ideal..I'd say SNES for Mario games, but MD for Sonic/Columns/Streets Of Rage II.
Dreamcast - I rarely play Dreamcast these days :(

I would of include N64 but it's so blurry as strawberry float so I can't really play it :( If I can find RF cable for it I'll consider setting it up again. I tend to play N64 on emulations or Virtual Console (due to smoother frameskip) so I pretty much put away N64.

Use some strawberry floating full stops and capital letters, God.

Sometimes I like to get my PS2 out to play PS1 games on, as my PSone kicked the bucket some months ago. :( First console I ever bought, that. At the moment my Megadrive is in a box somewhere, but that gets some love sometimes. Haven't used my Gamecube for a while though, since I haven't got many games for it and I got stuck on Resident Evil.
