I've also got one of these, imported one from America at the tail end of last year. Don't probably get that much use out of it but I can vouch for it being a good system. The worst point is that the wireless controller is rubbish but as has been said, you can plug in a wired controller and use it across platforms.
I never had a mega drive so as well as being able to play all my old Nintendo games its given me access to some old Mega Drive games. Although thus far I've only got the first two Sonic games.
The graphics filter options on the system are really good as you can add scan lines and keep the original resolution so its about as faithful to plugging in a console to a CRT as you're likely to get. Or you can make it widescreen and add filters that smooth out the pixels which give the games a more modern appearance.
If you have a decent sized collection of older games and want an easy way to play them I'd definitely suggest picking one of these up.
